🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at AWVC! 🦃

Please note that Animal Wellness Vet Clinic will be closed for Thanksgiving to allow our team to spend time with their families and loved ones.

If your pet experiences a medical emergency while we are closed, please contact Boreal Veterinary Centre for emergency veterinary care.

As you celebrate the holiday, remember to keep your pets safe by:
🐾 Keeping turkey bones away from curious pets
🐾 Avoiding rich or fatty table scraps
🐾 Keeping desserts and chocolate out of reach
🐾 Ensuring guests don't accidentally let pets slip outside

We wish you and your furry family members a safe, happy, and relaxing Thanksgiving! We look forward to seeing you when we reopen.

Today, we pause to remember the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾

Our pets leave paw prints on our hearts that never truly fade. Whether they were with us for many years or far too short a time, the love, companionship, laughter, and memories they gave us remain forever.

On Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we honor every cherished companion — dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, bearded dragons, geckos, and all the wonderful animals who have been part of our families.

To those missing a beloved pet today: please know that your grief is a reflection of just how deeply you loved them. ❤️

From all of us at Animal Wellness Vet, we remember them with you.

🌈 Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾

🖤 Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🖤

Today we're celebrating the sleek, mysterious, and undeniably majestic house panthers that rule our homes (and occasionally knock things off our shelves just because they can).

Black cats may look like tiny jungle predators, but they're just as likely to spend their day chasing a dust bunny, demanding second breakfast, or perfecting the art of the dramatic nap.

Despite old myths and superstitions, black cats are simply amazing companions with big personalities, endless charm, and hearts full of love. Today is the perfect day to give your tiny panther an extra treat, a new toy, or a few extra chin scratches—on their terms, of course.

📸 We want to see your house panthers! Share a photo of your black cat in the comments and tell us their funniest nickname or favourite mischievous habit.

From all of us at Animal Wellness, Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day to every sleek, shiny, whiskered little panther out there! 🐈‍⬛🖤

🐱 Vaccines: A Small Step for a Healthier, Happier Cat 💉❤️

Cats may have nine lives, but they still need protection from serious diseases.

Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to help keep your feline friend healthy. Whether your cat is an adventurous explorer or a professional indoor lounger, staying up to date on their vaccines is an important part of lifelong preventive care.

🐾 Why vaccinate?
✔️ Protects against serious infectious diseases
✔️ Helps reduce the spread of illness to other cats
✔️ Supports a longer, healthier life
✔️ Keeps your cat protected at every life stage

Even indoor cats can benefit from vaccinations, as some diseases can be brought into the home on clothing, shoes, or by other pets. Every cat's needs are unique, so we'll work with you to create a vaccination plan based on their age, lifestyle, and overall health.

📅 Is your cat due for their next wellness exam or vaccine? Contact us today to book an appointment and help keep your favourite feline feeling their best.

🐶 Vaccines: One of the Simplest Ways to Protect Your Best Friend 💉❤️

Your dog may think their biggest challenge is catching squirrels or convincing you it's dinner time again—but there are some threats they can't outrun.

Vaccinations help protect dogs from serious, and often preventable, diseases. They're an important part of keeping your pup healthy at every stage of life, whether they're a curious new puppy or a seasoned adventure buddy.

🐾 Why vaccinate?
✔️ Protects against serious infectious diseases
✔️ Helps prevent the spread of illness to other dogs
✔️ Supports a longer, healthier life
✔️ Gives you peace of mind on every walk, road trip, and playdate

Every dog is different, and vaccine recommendations can vary based on age, lifestyle, travel, and health. Our team is happy to help create a vaccination plan that's right for your furry friend.

📅 Is your dog's vaccine due date coming up? Contact us to schedule their next wellness visit—we're here to help keep those tails wagging!
