What clients see in session vs. what I’m actually doing 👀 Therapy isn’t always just talking.
It’s a space to slow down, understand yourself differently, and create meaningful change — at your own pace.

Your nervous system deserves a break, too. 🌿

Trauma-informed therapy can help you understand why your body stays on high alert, build nervous system regulation skills, and create a greater sense of safety within yourself. 🤍

Slow down. Breathe. Release. Connect.

Have you ever wondered what anxiety can look like beyond feeling worried?
Sometimes, it shows up as a thought loop, trouble sleeping, restlessness, irritability, or difficulty focusing.
You may not always recognize these signs as anxiety, but understanding what you're experiencing can be an important first step toward feeling better.
Counselling can help you:
✨ Understand the root of your anxiety and identify triggers.
✨ Learn tools for nervous system regulation.
✨ Develop healthier coping strategies.
✨ Feel more grounded and supported.

Childhood trauma can show up in more ways than we realize — anxiety, sleep, digestion, relationships, self-worth, and how our body responds to stress.

As a trauma therapist, I help you understand these patterns and work toward healing what’s underneath them.

I decided this would be a fun post: 5 things I said this week as a trauma therapist !

Because sometimes therapy is validating, sometimes it’s challenging, and sometimes it’s me saying, “Okay, but what is your nervous system trying to tell us here?”

Here are a few things you’ll probably hear me say in session…

The power of your inner voice.

It takes time to break old patterns. Changing the way we talk to ourselves is a necessary part of healing. Our self talk can continue to hurt us or can be used to heal us.

It’s not easy but it is possible.

The way you talk to yourself matters.

That inner voice can sometimes be harder on you than anyone else.

Thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “I should be doing better,” or “I am not deserving” can slowly affect the way you see yourself and your worth.

In counselling, I work with clients to notice these patterns, understand where they come from, and learn real ways to move forward with greater self-worth, self-compassion, and confidence. 🌿

Rest is productive too. 🤍

In a world that constantly tells us to do more, achieve more, and keep pushing, it can be easy to feel guilty when we slow down.

But rest isn’t something you have to earn.
It’s a basic part of caring for yourself.

Rest can look like:
✨ Sleeping in
✨ Taking a quiet morning
✨ Saying no to plans
✨ Spending time outside
✨ Doing something simply because you enjoy it
✨ Letting yourself have a day where you don’t accomplish anything

Give yourself permission to rest this weekend
