🚧 Road Workers, Your Safety Matters. 🚧

Working roadside comes with real risks, from moving traffic to harsh weather and distracted drivers. Staying alert and following proper safety procedures can help prevent serious injuries on the job.

✔️ Stay visible
✔️ Watch for moving vehicles
✔️ Be aware of your surroundings
✔️ Use the right PPE

🚧 Heads Up. 🚧

Distraction doesn’t just mean texting.
It’s checking directions. Grabbing something off the seat. Looking away “just for a second.”

In a work zone, that second is all it takes.

Stay focused. Watch for signage, workers, and traffic control.

🚧 Drivers: Your choices matter in construction zones. 🚧

Flashing lights and cones are more than traffic delays - they’re there to protect roadside workers.

If you see crews or emergency vehicles ahead:
➡️ Slow down
➡️ Stay alert
➡️ Move over when safe to do so

In Newfoundland and Labrador, the Move Over Law requires drivers to reduce speed and move into the next lane when approaching stopped emergency and authorized roadside vehicles with flashing lights activated.

A simple lane change could save a life.

🚧 Slow down. It’s not just about a ticket.🚧

When you speed through a construction zone, workers have less time to react and so do you.

Roadwork environments can change in an instant, with crews, equipment, lane shifts, and traffic all moving nearby.

Reduced speed limits are there to protect everyone on the road and everyone working beside it.

A few extra seconds could make all the difference.

Slow down. Heads up. Be respectful.

🚧 Cones Out? Slow Down. Workers Ahead. 🚧

Cones are out across the province - and that means road crews are back to work, often just feet away from moving traffic.

Every construction zone is an active workplace. A moment of patience behind the wheel can make all the difference for the people working to keep our roads safe and moving.

Slow down. Stay alert. Be respectful.

Drive like your family works there - because someone’s family does. ❤️
