Today I learned some heartbreaking news.
A fellow vendor who I've had the pleasure of doing markets alongside for years has recently been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). ALS is a progressive disease that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling muscle movement. Over time, it causes people to lose the ability to walk, use their hands, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe, while their mind often remains sharp. There is currently no cure.
Sadly, today will be her last market. ๐
If you've ever wandered through the market, there's a good chance you've been greeted by her warm smile. She makes the best Cowboy Candy, along with incredible baked goods, treats, sausages, and smoked cheeses. More than her amazing products, she'll be missed for the kindness, positivity, and genuine friendship she showed to every customer and every vendor.
Her next wish is to start checking off her bucket list and spend as much precious time with her family as possible.
Today at the Baynes Lake Market, 100% of the lemonade sales from the Blazing Bills Fermented Hot Sauces tent will be donated to her.
Life can be incredibly short. Life can be incredibly unfair. But life can also be incredibly beautiful when a community comes together.
If you're at the market today, stop by for an ice-cold lemonade and help support an amazing woman as she begins this next chapter.
