Are you sick of the song you normally sing to yourself in the shower?
Well… fewph! I'm so glad you're seeing this post.
I invite you to try this song instead :)
🎶The words are simple:
Every little cell in my body is happy
Every little cell in my body is well.
I'm so happy every little cell,
In my body is healthy and well!
🤣🤣The tune is simple as well if you can make it out in this less than professionally made & edited video!
As cute & silly as this is, most people don't realize is how much our thoughts affects our health.
A little excerpt from my book, Thinking Kindly:
Many research studies have shown that a strong, optimistic view to life improves one’s physical health.
Your inner mental and emotional workings (your psychology) are extremely important when it comes to your health, healing and well-being.
One study of seven thousand adults in Alameda County, California, revealed that health optimists—whose health was actually objectively worse than that of the health pessimists with whom they were compared—on average fared better and lived longer.
Their perception of their health was more important than their actual health.
Huh? Gasp? What? Read that again.
Their perception of their health was more important than their actual health.
To quote the abstract of the study:
“Our results further suggest that optimism is specifically related to 11 to 15% longer life span, on average, and to greater odds of achieving ‘exceptional longevity,’ that is, living to the age of 85 or beyond. These relations were independent of socioeconomic status, health conditions, depression, social integration, and health behaviours (e.g., smoking, diet, and alcohol use). Overall, findings suggest optimism may be an important psychosocial resource for extending life span in older adults.”
Wild right?
So… maybe a little song in the shower would be worth trying.
And in the car.
And on your walks.
And doing your dishes.
And… while you're getting IV nutrient therapy with me a Naturopathic Doctor in Nanaimo.
