Immunocidin® is approved for the treatment of mixed mammary tumors and mammary adenocarcinomas and may be used as a standalone option or in conjunction with surgery.

It is well tolerated, including in aged dogs and those with chronic cardiovascular or renal disease, making it a consideration for patients that may be poor surgical candidates.

Treatment is typically administered every 1 to 3 weeks and may be given prior to surgery or as a standalone treatment.

Dagmar, a 13-year-old Standard Dachshund from Florida, was diagnosed with mammary ductal adenocarcinoma, which was surgically removed prior to treatment.

She is currently being treated with Immunocidin® immunotherapy as part of her veterinarian-directed care plan. Thirty-eight weeks after starting therapy, Dagmar was going well.

Her owner shared:

Dr. Melissa McNally of Jolly Road Veterinary Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, shared a unique case involving a 16-year-old Blue-fronted Amazon parrot diagnosed with a malignant oral mass suspected to be squamous cell carcinoma.

In consultation with NovaVive, Immunocidin®, a regulator-approved immunotherapy for canine mammary tumors, was used experimentally under veterinary supervision.
Treatment began in November 2025 and was generally well-tolerated. Observations during this time suggested a gradual response of the tumor.

While Fredrica ultimately passed due to other health complications, her care team reported an extended period of quality time following diagnosis. “We were able to give Fredrica an extra 5 months from her diagnosis with Immunocidin therapy,” added Dr. McNally.

Immunocidin is approved for use in dogs. Use in other species is at the discretion of a licensed veterinarian.
