✨ MEET THE CRITTERS ✨

Lemon is a 2 year old crossbred heifer.

She has a neat story, as she was originally purchased as an 8 month old calf. She arrived with a hurt leg, so was left behind from the rest of her peers as they moved on to their next journey. We treated her and eventually she healed.

However, she never grew 😅 Which is not good in the cattle business, but is great news for me (vegetarian; animal lover; petting zoo operator!)

She now has a permanent pet home here on the farm!

Fun fact - she wasn’t named Lemon for her colouring, but because she was a “lemon” of a beef cow 😂 the colour just fits the name too!

Lemon is seriously the sweetest animal we have, and is one of the first to meet you at the gate. Her tongue is rough (like a cat tongue) and she will use it to grab the yummy treats from your hands.

Did you know? Cows don’t have top teeth at the front of their mouths, so they can’t bite you!

This morning was our alpacas’ shearing appointment with Al’s Hoof Trimming.

She graciously offered us some of her Loop order for our animals.

Boy oh boy are they enjoying it! What a fantastic program, to keep expired produce from being wasted.

✨ MEET THE CRITTERS ✨

Hercules is a 2 year old water buffalo steer that was born at the Water Buffalo farm in Stirling. He was picked up at auction.

It was clear as soon as we got him home that someone had made a pet out of him.

Hercules is calm and quiet, friendly and patient. He doesn’t move too quick, or get excited about much.

Fun fact about him is that water buffalo don’t sweat like other cows/horses/humans, so they require pools of water to stay cool. You may notice his pen has a big wet area - that’s intentional! This way, Hercules can stay cool during the hot months.

✨ MEET THE CRITTERS ✨

Saqqara is a 2 year old zonkey (zebra x donkey). She was born at the Oshawa Zoo and bottle fed, hence why she is so friendly!

She is a hybrid animal (combination of two species), which makes her most likely sterile (unable to get pregnant).

Saqqara exhibits protective traits from her zebra heritage and will often be seen putting herself between the herd and any humans.

Fun fact - when you meet Saqqara, you may notice that she makes a funny motion with her mouth! This isn’t her threatening to bite, it’s actually a submissive action that young equines make.

Stella, Ella, and Ola are excited to welcome guests to the farm SATURDAY and SUNDAY from 10-3pm for animal snuggles ❤️

Start off your adventure with an immersive experience in our small animal pen, where you can snuggle goats, pigs, sheep, and alpacas.

Then, grab a cup of food, and pet and feed our miniature cows, water buffalo, horses, and zonkey!

If you so fancy, end your visit with a pony ride on our small pony, or adult sized horse.

We cannot wait to see you and your family!

We also take select appointments during the week for bigger groups - great for daycare adventures, birthday parties, team building for small businesses, group home visits, and more!

☀️ GOAT SNUGGLING ☀️

Come snuggle our goats this weekend from 10-3pm! No appointment necessary.

Enjoy our immersive small animal pen where you can interact with our friendly goats, sheep, pigs, and alpacas.

Then enjoy petting and feeding our resident miniature cows, water buffalo, donkeys, horses, and zonkey!

If you feel inclined, pony rides are available for an additional $10.
