On September 3rd, the Complexe Rendez-vous successfully celebrated its 10th anniversary. With the help of the master of ceremonies, Mr. Gilles Gauthier, Communications Director of the NB Association of Nursing Homes, many people gathered to mark the occasion. Father Jean Bosco opened the ceremony with a blessing prayer. Mr. Ronald LeBlanc, CEO, and Mr. Camille Belliveau, Chairmen of the Board of Directors of the Comfort life Network, delivered their speeches, followed by Mr. Georges R. Savoie, mayor of the village of Neguac, Mme Pauline Roy, Chaimen of the Board of Directors of the NB Nursing Home Association, the Honorable Mr. Sam Johnston, Member of Parliament for Miramichi-Neguac, and Mr. Clark Dedam, councillor of the Esgenoopetitj First Nation. Josée LeGresley, Director of Operational Services, pays tribute to a community volunteer, Mr. Léo Comeau, who contributed over 10 years of hard work and perseverance before the nursing home opened. His initial vision was ambitious: to create a unique integrated complex, bringing together a nursing home, affordable housing, and a health center. A recognition plaque is presented to him, installed on a rock in front of the nursing home. On the plaque, you can read, 'Léo Comeau. Whose leadership and perseverance brought the Complexe Rendez-vous to life. His vision for the future continues to guide our steps. Tribute paid on the 10th anniversary. Neguac, 2026.'
Josée then acknowledges the staff members for their commitment, dedication, and significant contribution to the success of the nursing home. She gives a pin to each person who has completed 10 and 5 years of service. If the walls of the home came to life thanks to Mr. Comeau, it's thanks to our exceptional staff that they have a soul. To you, our dedicated team, thank you for your daily commitment, your patience, and the love you have given our residents for the past 10 years. You are the beating heart of the Complexe Rendez-vous, and this decade of success is above all yours. Today, this tenth anniversary is also a push toward the future.
Josée also acknowledges and thanks the people in the community and businesses for their generous donations toward buying activity items for the residents' well-being. The Complexe keeps track of these donations and fundraising efforts for purchasing things like a new minibus, which isn’t covered by the nursing homes budget. Thanks to the last fundraiser, the grocery bingo held in May brought in over $7,000 in profit. A huge thanks to all the companies that contributed and donated to this fundraiser. A huge thanks to Mrs. Thérèse Allain and Rodolphe Lebreton who gave the Complexe Rendez-vous a check for $20,000, which will go directly to the fundraiser account for the minibus. Another fundraiser will be organized soon. We are confident that the profits raised from all these fundraisers and donations will help us very soon to purchase a new minibus.
The celebration ends with a BBQ, drinks, and cake served to everyone for free, a bouncy castle for the kids, and a performance by magician Allard Robichaud inside. Thanks to everyone who helped and contributed to the success of this celebration!
