Can flat spots be prevented? 👶

In this part of our CHCH Morning Live segment, we’re talking about what parents can do early on to support their baby’s head shape, including tummy time, repositioning and creating opportunities for babies to spend time off the back of their head while awake.

Small changes in your baby’s daily routine can help reduce prolonged pressure on one area of the head. 💙

Your baby’s car seat, swing or bouncer might be part of your everyday routine, but have you ever thought about how much time their head spends resting against these surfaces? 🤔

During infancy, a baby’s head is soft and malleable. When awake time repeatedly involves pressure on the same area of the head, especially when a baby prefers looking in one direction, it can contribute to flat spots and head shape asymmetries like positional plagiocephaly.

The good news? You don’t need to get rid of the baby gear that makes life easier.

Our latest blog breaks down:
• How car seats, swings, bouncers and loungers can contribute to repeated pressure
• Signs it may be time to rethink your baby’s daily routine
• Simple ways to balance container time with tummy time, floor play and movement
• When a persistent flat spot may be worth having assessed

Comment BLOG and we’ll send you the full article by DM. 💙

Every graduation starts with a family saying, "Let's do this." 🎓

This Calgary ROKstar began treatment at 6 months with Level 4 asymmetrical brachycephaly and graduated at 10 months with head shape measurements within normal limits. What an incredible journey!

His family shared that Kevin made the entire experience feel positive and reassuring. Every question was answered with care, any helmet adjustments were handled quickly, and they felt supported throughout the entire process. Seeing their baby's head shape transform made the journey completely worthwhile.

If you're wondering whether helmet therapy is the right next step for your little one, send us a DM. We're here to help you make an informed decision with confidence. 💙
