Beyouwithcandidar Offering a safe space for adults and seniors to overcome challenging transitions with confidence

I work with adults and seniors struggling to cope with life's transitions.

Pride is about more than being seen.
Itโ€™s about feeling safe enough to be yourself.

This month and every month:
You belong here. ๐ŸŒˆ

Healing started when I stopped abandoning myself.

Not dramatically. Not all at once. But in small moments of choosing rest over one more task. Saying no without a paragraph of explanation. Taking the forever talked about trip.

For years I gave everyone the version of me that was useful. Capable. Available. And quietly left myself on the back burner like it was noble.

It wasnโ€™t. It was just familiar.

Therapy taught me that healing isnโ€™t becoming someone new.
Itโ€™s returning to yourself after years of putting everyone else first.

โ€œI canโ€™t today, I have therapy.โ€ That might be the healthiest thing Iโ€™ve ever said. ๐Ÿค

What was the first thing you did when you started choosing yourself? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Nobody warns you that some seasons, this is what success looks like.

Left the house โœ…
Clothes forward-facing โœ…
No texts or voicemails Iโ€™m afraid to open โœ…

And I built a whole practice around helping people survive their hard seasons. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Hereโ€™s what 10 years of this work has taught me: the people who look the most put together are often running the quietest survival checklists.

Not because theyโ€™re failing.
Because theyโ€™re carrying a lot.

If your bar is on the floor right now, Iโ€™m not going to tell you to raise it. Iโ€™m going to tell you the floor counts.
And so do you. ๐Ÿ–ค

Save this for the morning you need it most.

Maybe youโ€™ve been calling it stress.
Or burnout. Or just being tired.
But something in you knows
itโ€™s been more than that for a while now.

You donโ€™t have to keep figuring it out alone.

If you read the word stress and it had you nodding, thatโ€™s worth paying attention to.

Today, we honour all mothers. ๐Ÿค

Those who hold their children in their arms.
Those who hold them in their hearts.
Those who are grieving.
Those who are waiting.
Those who are trying.
Those whose journey has not unfolded as hoped.
Those who love in ways the world doesnโ€™t always see.
The ones doing it solo.
The ones far from home.
The ones still healing while showing up.
The ones who mother without the title.

Every single one of you is seen today.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day. ๐ŸŒฟ

I said what I said. ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿพ

Waiting is not always wisdom.
Itโ€™s the terror of trying and being seen.
Of wanting something and not getting it.
Of outgrowing the version of yourself that everyone is comfortable with.

The city behind me doesnโ€™t wait for anyone.
Eight million people moving in every direction because they decided to go.
You donโ€™t need the perfect moment.

You just need to decide that the wait is over. ๐Ÿ–ค

What have you been calling patience that might actually be fear? Be honest โ€” drop it below. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

How youโ€™re feeling right now does not have to be the end of your story. ๐Ÿ–ค
I need you to read that again.
Not as a motivational quote.
Not as a platitude someone stitched onto a pillow.
As a clinical truth from someone who has sat across from people who were convinced that what they were feeling in that moment was permanent.

The exhaustion that had no name.
The grief that wouldnโ€™t move.
The numbness that settled in so quietly you almost mistook it for healing.
The version of yourself you didnโ€™t recognize anymore.

Iโ€™ve watched people carry those feelings like a verdict.

I want to say this as gently and as firmly as I know how โ€”
Feelings are information.
They are NOT your destination.

They are telling you something true about what youโ€™ve been through. They are not telling you something permanent about who you are or where youโ€™re going.

You are allowed to be in a hard chapter without calling it the ending.
You are allowed to not be okay and still believe that okay is possible.
Thatโ€™s not pretending.
That is the radical act of refusing to let your worst moment write your whole story.

Wherever you are today โ€” I see you. ๐Ÿ–ค

04/26/2026

This is it. ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿพ

Not the kind that comes wrapped in a motivational quote.
The kind that finds you on a random Sunday, watching the people you love walk ahead of you โ€” and realizing youโ€™ve spent years doing the same thing.

Walking BEHIND your own life.

As a therapist, I sit with people every single day who are exhausted from being everything to everyone. Who have put their dreams in a drawer so long theyโ€™ve forgotten what they felt like. Who laugh nervously when I ask, โ€œwhat do YOU want?โ€

And Iโ€™m not exempt from that. Iโ€™ve been her too.

The woman who justified staying small because the timing wasnโ€™t โ€œrightโ€.
Because the kids needed her.
Because what if it didnโ€™t work?
Because, who was SHE to want MORE?

Hereโ€™s what I know now, clinically and personally:

Chronic self-abandonment is LEARNED.
This wasnโ€™t how you were bornโ€ฆ itโ€™s what you were taught to survive.

This post isnโ€™t about hustle.
This post isnโ€™t about MANIFESTING your way into a new life.

This is about the quiet, terrifying, sacred decision to stop outsourcing your worth to everyone elseโ€™s comfort.

You donโ€™t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to start walking BESIDE your life instead of behind it.

Iโ€™m still learning that. Every single day.
But Iโ€™m no longer waiting for permission. ๐Ÿ–ค

If this hit somewhere deep โ€” share it with the woman who needs it. Sheโ€™s probably not going to say she does.

If you need to talk, reach out to talk to someone.
