🏆 A Milestone for PACE Cardiology

We are proud to announce that PACE Cardiology is the first community cardiology clinic in Ontario to enrol in Accreditation Canada’s Echocardiography Quality Improvement (EQI) Pediatric Accreditation Program.

Already accredited through the EQI Adult Program, this next step reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, standardized cardiac imaging and care across all patient populations.

As one of the early adopters of this program, we’re helping to set a benchmark for integrated quality in community cardiology.

“We are excited to be the first community cardiology clinic in Ontario to do this. Our approach to echocardiography is grounded in consistency, not variation. Extending into the EQI Pediatric program reflects how we apply the same standard of quality across every population we serve,” said Dr. Yaariv Khaykin, Physician Lead at PACE Cardiology.

“This achievement reinforces our commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous quality improvement for the patients and families who trust us with their cardiac care,” add Dr. Khaykin.

PACE Cardiology proudly serves patients through our clinics in Barrie, Newmarket, and Orillia (Echo Lab). Learn more at www.pace-cardiology.com

❤️ World Heart Rhythm Week: Know Your Rhythm, Protect Your Heart

Your heart has its own natural rhythm, quietly working around the clock to keep blood flowing throughout your body. When that rhythm becomes too fast, too slow, or irregular, it may be a sign of a heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia).

Many people don’t realize that symptoms can be subtle, including:
✔️ Palpitations or a fluttering sensation in the chest
✔️ Dizziness or lightheadedness
✔️ Shortness of breath
✔️ Unexplained fatigue
✔️ Fainting or near-fainting episodes

This World Heart Rhythm Week, take a moment to check in with your heart. If you’ve noticed symptoms or changes in your heartbeat, don’t ignore them. Early detection and treatment can help improve quality of life and reduce the risk of complications.

❤️ Awareness starts with knowing what’s normal for you. For more information on PACE Cardiology, visit www.pace-cardiology.com

World Heart Rhythm Week — An Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Focus

AFib affects millions but managing it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. From medications to lifestyle changes, there are many ways to lower your risk of stroke and improve heart health.

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a type of irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Arrhythmias are due to electrical signal disturbances of the heart. AFib is the most common type of arrhythmia.

The risk of developing atrial fibrillation increases with age and with other risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure and underlying heart disease. The main complications of atrial fibrillation are stroke and heart failure.

In AFib, the electrical signals are fast, irregular and disorganized, and the heart may not pump as efficiently. Atrial fibrillation can cause your heart to beat very quickly, sometimes more than 150 beats per minute. It may even feel like your heart is “skipping a beat.”

Symptoms of AFib may include: dizziness, fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and chest pain (especially in people with underlying heart disease).

Join us in spreading the word about heart rhythm disorders and the importance of heart health. If you have concerns about your heart rhythm, ask your healthcare provider to be referred to our clinic at www.pace-cardiology.com If you don’t have a physician or a cardiologist, you can self refer to our clinic at https://bit.ly/AFibReferral, or scan the QR code.

Your heart matters.
