🚨 Wildfire smoke is affecting air quality across Ontario—and outdoor workers may face prolonged exposure throughout the workday.
Smoke from fires in northwestern Ontario has drifted south, prompting air-quality warnings and creating unhealthy conditions in many communities. Even when a wildfire is hundreds of kilometres away, fine particulate matter can still travel long distances and affect the air you breathe.
Construction crews, utility workers, landscapers, road crews, municipal employees and others working outside should regularly check the AQHI, reduce strenuous outdoor activity when possible, take breaks in cleaner-air spaces and use properly selected respiratory protection when exposure cannot be avoided.
