May is Apraxia Awareness Month and today, May 14th, is Apraxia Awareness Day!!

Childhood Apraxia of Speech is a rare but severe motor speech disorder. Children with apraxia have difficulty speaking clearly due to the difficulties planning and coordinating the movements of their lips, tongue and jaw. Acquired apraxia of speech can impact individuals following a brain injury, stroke or other progressive neurological disorders.

No matter the stage of life, individuals with apraxia can benefit from intensive speech therapy to help learn the movement patterns required for speech🗣️

✨Volunteer Spotlight✨

Volunteer Sophia has been supporting FSC since last July where she started as a counsellor at camp. We are grateful for her long-term dedication and are happy to have her as a hardworking team player. She continues to assist with admin and organization of therapy materials on our busy Saturdays and we are thrilled for her to join us again at camp this July! 👏
