Remembering a great man and inspiration

Mikao Usui was not a man whose teachings appeared overnight.

What we know of his life describes a devoted student—curious, disciplined, and continually seeking understanding.

His memorial records that he studied widely and worked diligently, and his spiritual journey continued for many years before the system associated with Reiki emerged in the final chapter of his life.

His path reminds us that wisdom is often not a sudden destination, but something slowly embodied through experience.

And perhaps one of the deepest truths within his legacy is this:

Begin with yourself.

Before offering healing outward, turn inward.

Become present within your own body.

Listen to your heart, your mind, and your spirit.

Allow what you practice to become something you actually live.

Inner embodiment means that Reiki is not merely something passing through your hands—it becomes reflected in how you breathe, how you respond, how you cultivate gratitude, how you meet worry and anger, and how gently you walk through the world.

Usui's teachings placed self-cultivation at the heart of the practice.

His journey offers a beautiful reminder:

Do not rush to become the teacher.

Remain the student.

Begin within yourself.

Embody what you learn.

Then let what has taken root within you naturally become something you share with others.

Learn How To Forgive Yourself To Move Forward

When someone else does something that hurts us, our reasons for holding a grudge are usually clear. We want the pain to be understood. Once they’ve apologized and made amends, we’re usually clear to move on.

However, things become considerably more challenging when it comes to forgiving yourself. Anger can serve as a self-defence mechanism when it comes from someone else. In a way, holding a grudge against them and demanding restitution keeps our self-image intact.

We have effectively kept a border.

But when we're angry with ourselves, it's usually a result of a violation of our morals. Our emotions are, therefore, typically more nuanced than simple rage. Yes, we are angry at ourselves, but we are also ashamed and disappointed in ourselves.

An inner critic: what is it?
The little voice inside of us that continuously tells us that we're failing, that we're doing something incorrectly, or that we ought to be better is known as our inner critic. It’s super mean, to be honest. That judgmental voice is far more cruel than we would ever be to a friend or loved one, which is what makes it so insane. Furthermore, we wouldn’t put up with someone saying such things to us or about someone we care about. However, these ideas sound far more real when they remain inside. We tend not to question the thoughts that run through our minds because we're less aware of them. This uninformed inner critic can cause a great deal of harm. It's a form of internal gaslighting when it's out of control, making us doubt everything we say, do, or dream about. Learning to be compassionate with yourself is the only effective method to stop it.

How to forgive yourself
Here are some strategies to help the process of healing and forgiveness get started:

1. Understand that you’re not perfect
You’re not perfect. Declare it aloud, jot it down, or write it on a coffee cup. You’re not perfect — and you’re not a bad person, either. You are only a person. Give yourself the same grace you give to other people. Are you holding yourself to a standard that you would never place on another person?

2. Get clear on why you’re upset with yourself
Investigate the source of your guilt-ridden emotions. Is it perfectionism? Have you harmed anyone else? Have you done something that you’re embarrassed about? Despite the discomfort it may cause to look upon, confronting it head-on can be instructive. Chances are, it’s not hard to imagine someone else doing the same thing and being completely unbothered. For instance, when I don't do tasks by the deadline, I am really angry with myself. It's the main thing I criticize myself for. However, I have friends who could care less and submit everything either late or not at all. And what do you know? I don’t think that they’re bad people.

Try to be scientific about what happened and why it’s bothering you so much. Being late makes me feel careless and incapable personally. Neither of these describes who I am, and I don't want anyone else to think that way, either.

3. Repair what you can
After determining what your "wrongdoing" is, you'll be able to determine whether you have to atone for it. You might owe someone an apology. You can accept it for yourself so you can move on from the past, even if the ship has sailed, and you won't get another chance to make it up. You’re not a bad person. You just didn’t finish/do/get/say something. It’s not fun, but it happens.

7 Ways To Work With Vibration Daily

YOUR TONE
Mindful speech is game-changing. The way you speak to others is also how you speak to yourself; it has to come through you first. Switching your tone to sound more patient, positive, compassionate, and mindful as you speak to others–or yourself–will cause an immediate shift in your vibration. Tap into healing tones.

MUSIC
Music is one of the most ancient forms of medicine. Music is also vibration, which can be high or low, soothing or disturbing, inspiring or triggering. Create playlists that take you higher!!

MOVE YOUR BODY
Motion moves emotion and energy. Move your body to circulate the energy you’re absorbing and experiencing daily. The movement offers the mind and body relief and balance.

DECOMPRESS
Take time to restore. Take energy-cleansing salt baths. Light your candles, say a prayer, dance and sing, and turn to rituals and ceremonies that are meaningful to you and your spiritual faith. Self-care is how you take your power back and raise your vibration.

HEALING FOODS + PLANT MEDICINE
Foods carry either a high or low vibration. As magnetic beings, we take on the energy and vibration of what we put into our bodies. By consuming healing foods and plant medicine versus foods that overstimulate your stress response and nervous system (such as caffeine, chemically processed foods, junk foods, and white sugar), you are raising the frequency of your body.

MIND-CARE
Meditation is a proven method for raising our vibration and shifting our consciousness. A calm mind is a powerful mind; it helps you better navigate what you experience and go through. The more consistently you meditate and reach a state of inner calm, the better the results and benefits you will incur and sustain.

VIBRATIONAL-AWARENESS
Realize the polarities between high and low vibrations and the outcome and effects they both create within and around you. Realize you are in co-creation all day long. What reality are you helping to co-create through your daily choices, actions, behaviour, patterns, and habits? What is your vibration signalling? Stay aware. Observe the signals within and around you.

Observe your tendencies, environment, and well-being. What are they all signalling? Take any necessary actions to vibrate higher daily and live your power in the various aspects of your life. This is how you work with vibration.

Your life and reality shift as your vibration shifts. To hold a steady and desirable vibrational field, keep noticing what raises your vibration and do more of that. Keep a mental or physical log of what works and what doesn't work. Consistently doing what raises your vibration each day builds the muscles of a new and improved life, reality, and you. Wherever you are, vibration is also there; it's the undercurrent and the overtone. Journey in vibrational awareness as if the quality of your life depends on it: because it does.

Ancient Spiritual Practices for Deepening Romantic Connections
Love isn't just about chocolate hearts and roses. For thousands of years, cultures worldwide have practiced sacred rituals to deepen romantic bonds. Ready to take your connection to the next level? Let's explore some ancient wisdom that might just transform your relationship.

The Art of Sacred Space
Remember the butterflies you felt on your first date? Ancient traditions knew how to recreate that magic intentionally. In Hindu tradition, couples create a dedicated love altar adorned with rose quartz crystals, fresh flowers, and meaningful objects. It's like creating your own little love sanctuary! Try setting aside a corner of your home where you and your partner can meditate, share dreams, or simply be present together.

Breathing as One
The Vikings might have been fierce warriors, but they understood something profound about love – the power of synchronized breathing. This practice, now backed by modern science, shows that couples who breathe together stay together (literally!). Try sitting face-to-face with your partner, matching your breath for just five minutes. It's amazing how such a simple act can create such deep intimacy.

The Power of Touch
Ancient Egyptian lovers practiced something beautiful called "soul touching” – not just physical contact, but mindful connection through hands. Place your palm against your partner's heart, close your eyes, and focus on sending love through your touch. It might feel a bit awkward at first, but trust me, it's more powerful than any text message you'll ever send!

Love Letters to the Soul
Before Snapchat and Instagram, Japanese Zen practitioners wrote soul letters – deep expressions of appreciation focusing not on physical attraction, but on the divine qualities they saw in their beloved. Take time to write about what truly moves you about your partner's spirit. What light do they bring to the world?

What qualities make their soul shine?

Modern Love, Ancient Wisdom
The beauty of these practices is their simplicity. You don't need special tools or years of spiritual training – just an open heart and willing partner. This Valentine's Day, alongside the usual dinner date, why not experiment with one of these timeless traditions? You might just discover a deeper dimension to your love story. Remember, love isn't just an emotion – it's a practice, a journey, and perhaps the most powerful spiritual path of all. When we approach romance with sacred intention, even the smallest moments can become divine.

So, which of these practices speaks to your heart? Sometimes the oldest wisdom offers the freshest perspective on love.

Inner Teachings of Mikao Usui:

Do not anger = Let go of what has passed.
Do not worry = Let go of what may come.
Be grateful = Let go of what is happening now.
Be true to your way and your being = Don't try to figure anything out, don't try to make anything happen.
Show compassion to yourself and others = Relax right now and rest.

The rest, of course, is not about doing nothing; it is about being in this wide-open state of mind, our true nature, in which we do not get caught up in anything. When that happens, pure compassion shines forth, a compassion that doesn't change with circumstances. And in that state of "rest," we act out our daily lives today.

This is the Secret of Inviting Happiness through Many Blessings.

The Spiritual Medicine for All Illnesses.

07/08/2026

For thousands of years, healing traditions throughout the world have regarded the hands as more than instruments of touch. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, practitioners cultivate and direct Qi (Chi), the vital life force believed to circulate through meridians and concentrate at specific acupuncture points, many of which terminate in the hands and fingertips. Similar concepts appear in Japanese Reiki, Indian prana, Christian laying on of hands, and qigong, where the hands are viewed as conduits through which vitality may be focused with intention.

Today, modern science has uncovered a fascinating biological phenomenon that echoes at least part of this ancient observation.

Researchers have confirmed that the human body continuously emits an extraordinarily faint light known as ultraweak photon emission (UPE), often called biophotons. These photons are not mystical in origin but are produced naturally during cellular metabolism, particularly through oxidative reactions within living cells. Although invisible to the naked eye, they can be detected using highly sensitive photomultiplier tubes and specialized imaging systems.

Even more intriguing, studies measuring individual fingers found that fingernails consistently emit more photons than fingerprints, with measurable differences between individual fingers. Other investigations have shown that the hands are among the most active regions of the body for these ultraweak light emissions, suggesting that the fingertips are genuine sources of detectable biological light.

Scientists believe these emissions reflect the body’s ongoing biochemical activity and oxidative metabolism. Because photon output changes with physiological state, researchers are exploring whether biophoton measurements could someday become a completely non-invasive way to monitor oxidative stress, inflammation, aging, and overall cellular health.

Does this prove that the ancient art of healing with the hands works through biophotons?

Not yet.

Current evidence confirms that our hands emit measurable light, but it has not established that these naturally emitted photons are themselves the mechanism behind therapeutic touch, Reiki, qigong healing, or other energetic healing traditions. Those possibilities remain areas of ongoing investigation rather than settled scientific conclusions.

Even so, the convergence is remarkable. Long before photomultiplier tubes, CCD cameras, or modern biophysics existed, cultures across the world independently described the hands as focal points of living energy. Today, science confirms that the fingertips are not biologically silent—they are dynamic regions emitting measurable photons generated by the living processes within us.

Whether these subtle emissions represent only a metabolic byproduct or hint at deeper forms of biological communication remains one of the more intriguing frontiers in biophysics.
