RMT Elizabeth

RMT Elizabeth Registered Massage Therapist I have owned my practice within the Stinson Community for over 2 years now and am loving it!

My name is Elizabeth Den Hollander and I am a registered massage therapist (RMT) registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. In April 2014 I graduated with honors from Georgian College where in my second year I received 2 scholarships that funded my 10 day medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic in May of 2013. I was proactive during my 3 years at Georgian College, I was i

nvolved with the student advisory council helping with student focused events and I became a tutor for anatomy, pathology and physiology courses. The Georgian College massage therapy program offered 4 semesters of the 6 semester program in clinic and outreach programs where we gained experience in sporting injures, pregnancy, complex care, palliative care, fibromyalgia and arthritis. I am always looking to improve and gain more experience, so I recently became ART (active release technique) certified to help better myself as a manual therapist. I am currently working at two clinics, I'm starting my own practice as well as working at a physiotherapy clinic to have a more inter-professional work environment. I am dedicated to helping my patients improve their health by using a wide range of treatment options and remedial exercise regimes. THANKS FOR "LIKING" ME AND BOOK IN TODAY!

One of our favourite Jane App features? The waitlist 🩵

If you’re looking for an appointment and don’t see a time that works, add yourself to the waitlist!

It’s actually so helpful for us behind the scenes because it lets us know when there’s more demand than our current availability can accommodate. If we notice our waitlist growing, it helps us make decisions around adjusting hours, adding availability, or even bringing new practitioners into the collective.

And because life happens, appointments get rescheduled and spots open up all the time. If you’re on the waitlist, you’ll be notified when something becomes available that matches what you’re looking for.

So if you’ve been thinking, ā€œI’ll just keep checking back,ā€ add yourself to the waitlist instead! It helps you get that appointment you’re looking for and helps us understand where our community needs more care ✨

Jaw pain let’s talk about it!

In February ZoĆ« Laberto and I took the course training from Jules at From the Neck Up | RMT Clinic to learn the skills to help our clients with jaw dysfunction. We have been helping our clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and ease muscle tension. We also believe it’s important to look beyond the symptoms and ask why they’re happening in the first place.

For some people, breathing patterns, tongue posture, swallowing habits, and oral muscle function can play a role in jaw tension and dysfunction. That’s why having a myofunctional therapist (MyoCare Solutions) as part of our team is so valuable.

We also have an osteopathic manual therapist (Michelle Smith šŸ“Hamilton, ON Osteopathy) on our team, and osteopathic treatment can be another valuable piece of the puzzle. By assessing the body as a whole, it can help address restrictions and imbalances that may be contributing to jaw dysfunction, including through the cervical spine and the surrounding structures that work together with the jaw. When concerns around jaw function and airway are present, having a collaborative team means we can help guide you toward the care that’s most appropriate for your unique needs.

My goal has always been to empower clients, no matter what brings them through the door. Soft tissue treatment can be incredibly helpful for relieving pain, improving mobility, and allowing the jaw to function more comfortably. At the same time, I want to help clients better understand their bodies and recognize when other patterns may be contributing to their symptoms. Sometimes that means exploring additional forms of support as part of a collaborative approach. The more we understand what’s contributing to our symptoms, the more empowered we are to make informed choices about our care.

So if you’ve been living with jaw pain, clenching, tension, or other TMJ symptoms, let’s start a conversation. Together, we can explore what might be contributing to your symptoms, help you better understand your body, and find the care routine that’s the best fit for you!

SO what’s new with Jane? šŸ‘€āœØ

Jane is always rolling out helpful new features, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up with it all.

That’s why I’m so excited for Jane’s ā€œWhat’s New This Summerā€ event happening August 5th! It’s a chance to see what’s new, learn how the features work, and figure out which ones could actually be helpful to integrate into your practice.

I personally really love how functional Jane is on mobile, and the room tags have been such a simple but helpful addition for our clinic!!

I’m excited to see what they will be sharing next week! šŸ‘€

What’s your favourite Jane feature?

One of the biggest advantages I had when I started my practice wasn’t a business plan. It was having someone to ask.

When I became an RMT 12 years ago, my mom had already been in practice for 15 years. I had someone who had navigated the challenges before me, someone I could ask questions, bounce ideas off of, and learn from. I know what a gift that was šŸ¤

Over the years, one of the most meaningful parts of my career has been becoming that person for others. I’ve had the privilege of mentoring practitioners as they’ve started and grown their own businesses, and it’s reminded me how valuable it is to have guidance when you’re stepping into something new.

That’s why I love resources like Jane’s new Business Workbook. It gives you thoughtful questions to consider as you build your practice, whether you’re stepping into solo practice or opening a business fog any type!

The truth is, you’ll never know everything before you start. But having good people and good resources around you can make the journey feel a whole lot less overwhelming.

I’ve linked the workbook in my BIO if you’re thinking about starting or growing your practice.

And if you’re looking for a collective where you can build your own business alongside a supportive community, we’re growing at Painted Brick Wellness and would love to connect with you! šŸ’›āœØ

What’s on my front desk? šŸµšŸ“

Likely a matcha from maycoffeecakes, my beautiful penny coasters, a notebook full of to dos … and lately, the newest issue of Front Desk by Jane!

There was an article that really resonated with me- ā€œHealing Has a New Feelingā€. It discussed that healing isn’t just about the treatment itself but the environment we can create and how people feel while they’re in our care.

That the clinic space matters. The conversations matter. Feeling welcomed, heard, and safe matters.

ā€œPeople will never forget how you made them feel.ā€

As care providers, we have such an opportunity to create spaces where people can exhale, slow down, and feel genuinely cared for.

This philosophy has shaped so much of what we’ve created at Painted Brick Wellness, and it was so meaningful to see it reflected in this issue!

If you’re a practitioner or clinic owner, Front Desk is a free print magazine by Jane that’s full of thoughtful stories, ideas, and practical insights for those working in health and wellness. If you’re interested, you can have a copy mailed to your clinic at jane.app/frontdesk!

Hello friends!

I’ve been nominated for Entrepreneur of Impact in the wellness category!! 🄹

https://entrepreneurofimpact.org/2026/elizabeth-den-hollander

Honestly… this feels like a little dream.

I’ve been an RMT for 11.5 years, and opening a collective clinic had been something I dreamed about for so long! It feels special to be nominated and I feel so grateful to everyone who has supported me in my ventures over my career!

OK so voting is happening NOW !! The voting allows for daily votes to keep me going through the rounds! The link is available in my bio if you’d like to support me in these efforts to move forwardā˜€ļø

What makes this even more meaningful to me is that my business model has never just been about me. Through Painted Brick Wellness, I’ve been building a collective space where practitioners can grow their own businesses, feel supported, and truly thrive !!

So often success is measured by who has the most, or who’s at the top. But for me, success has always looked different. It’s been my dream coming to reality building a space where everyone around me is also thriving in their businesses!

Being recognized in this way feels really special, especially when success is so often defined through a more capitalistic, top-down lens. I’ve always believed success can look like everyone around me thriving too, and I believe that kind of shared success deserves more space and recognition.

Thank you for being here, it means more than you know ✨
