If I could book in with an acupuncturist today… what would I want treatment for? 🤔
Dx: Spleen Qi Xu with Shi Ji (Food Stagnation) affecting the Stomach.
Lately, about 30 minutes after eating, I’m bloated, I feel heavy, uncomfortable, and honestly just NASTY. It’s especially bad after greasy breakfasts and I’m definitely guilty of drinking coffee before eating.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen is responsible for transforming the food we eat into Qi (energy) and moving it through the digestive system. When the Spleen is weakened by stress, irregular meals, cold drinks, greasy foods, alcohol, or eating on the go, digestion slows down.
Food doesn’t move the way it should… it stagnates.

So what do I recommend to myself?
🌿 Massage ST36 & SP6 daily
🫖 Drink warming teas like ginger, fennel, roasted barley, or chen pi (aged tangerine peel)
🥣 Choose warm breakfasts like congee, oatmeal, or baked sweet potato
🍲 Eat more soups and stews
☕ Maybe skip the coffee before breakfast… (I’m working on it! 😂)
🪑 Slow down and actually sit while you eat.
