With the current wildfire conditions, Extreme Heat and Air Quality Warnings affecting our area, now is a good time to make sure you and your family are prepared. Being ready doesn't mean expecting the worst, it simply means you'll be able to respond quickly if conditions change.
🎒 Pack an Emergency Go Bag
Keep it in an easily accessible location and include essentials such as:
• Important documents (identification, insurance information, health cards, passports)
• Prescription medications and a list of medical needs
• First aid kit and basic medical supplies
• Bottled water and non-perishable food for several days
• Clothing, sturdy footwear, and extra socks
• Personal hygiene items
• Flashlight, batteries, portable phone charger, and charging cables
• Cash, keys, and any essential pet supplies
• Comfort items for children or family members with specific needs
🌡️ Protect Yourself from the Heat & Smoke
• Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
• Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
• Stay in cool, air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
• If smoke is present, reduce time spent outdoors and keep windows and doors closed when practical.
• Check in on friends, neighbours, seniors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat or poor air quality.

🚫 Restricted Fire Zone in Effect
A Restricted Fire Zone remains in effect for the Township of Red Rock, and the Ministry of Natural Resources has implemented a Restricted Fire Zone across the entire region beginning at 12:01am tonight.
No open-air burning is permitted while these restrictions remain in place.
🔥 Help Prevent Wildfires
Everyone has a role to play:
• Ensure ci******es and smoking materials are completely extinguished and disposed of safely.
• Use extra caution when cooking outdoors and never leave cooking equipment unattended.
• Avoid activities that could create sparks in dry vegetation.
• Keep your property clear of dry grass, leaves, and other combustible materials where practical.
• Report any signs of wildfire immediately by calling 310-FIRE (3473) (or 911 if a fire poses an immediate threat to people or property).
