After 3+ years of offering MOT, I still get asked this question almost daily. π
What is Manual Osteopathic Therapy?
Manual Osteopathic Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on therapy. The focus is bringing the bodyβs structure and function back toward whole-body health.
Through a detailed intake and hands-on assessment, the therapist looks for dysfunctional patterns that may show up as pain or other disruption.
Treatment may include:
Muscle Energy Techniques
Joint and fascial mobilizations
Myofascial work
Lymphatic techniques
Craniosacral techniques
Visceral techniques
The goal is to restore health and balance. Manual osteopathic care is built on the ideas that the body works as a unit, the body has an innate ability to heal, structure and function affect each other, and the body has self-governing means.
