Please join us in welcoming Sally Dokis, Registered Social Worker, to the Nipissing Counselling Solutions team.

Sally is a proud member of Dokis First Nation and brings extensive experience supporting children, youth, adults, seniors, couples, and communities through a wide range of mental health and wellness challenges. Guided by the teachings of Mino-bimaadiziwin (the Good Life), Sally integrates Indigenous and Western approaches to healing, creating a safe, compassionate, and culturally grounded space for clients on their healing journeys.

Her areas of expertise include trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, mental health and addictions, emotional wellness, life coaching, and children and youth mental health. Sally's approach is rooted in holistic healing, resilience, and empowerment, helping clients build on their strengths while working toward balance and well-being.

We are excited to welcome Sally to our growing team and look forward to the knowledge, experience, and care she will bring to our community.

Please join us in welcoming Sheila Struiksma, Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, to the Nipissing Counselling Solutions team.

With more than 20 years of experience, Sheila brings a compassionate, steady, and client-centered approach to therapy. She has supported individuals, couples, and families through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, caregiver burnout, relationship challenges, and complex life transitions.

Sheila works with adults (18+), seniors, couples, caregivers, and individuals who have experienced trauma. She also provides mental health assessments for refugee claimants to support IRCC applications and hearings.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), the Gottman Method, CPT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Sheila creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can reconnect with their strengths, build coping skills, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
