There is still time to apply for the CAPhO Research Grant 2026. By submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI), you can receive early input from the Research Committee to help shape your full proposal.

Whether your focus is clinical practice, pharmaceutical sciences or implementation research, this is a chance to contribute meaningful work to the oncology pharmacy field.

Entitled "Liquid Clues: Decoding circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) to Rewriting Colorectal Cancer Care", guest Stacey Cohen explores circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and colorectal cancer in this episode.

Action Needed: National Study on Oncology-Related Education for Pharmacists

Pharmacists across Canada are invited to participate in a national survey on oncology-related education and competency needs for pharmacists supporting patients receiving take-home cancer therapies.

The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy (University of Toronto) and Extend Pharmacy are conducting this study to help strengthen education and practice support for pharmacists working in oncology and community settings.

Licensed pharmacists practicing in oncology-focused or community pharmacy settings are invited to complete a 15–20 minute anonymous online survey. Participants may also choose to join a virtual focus group at a later date. The survey is open until August 31, 2026.

This study is guided by the 2024 CAPhO Competency Framework and has received ethics approval from the University of Toronto Research Ethics Board (Protocol #00050243).

Your input will help inform future continuing professional development initiatives and shape national discussions on competency-based oncology education for pharmacists.

CAPhO 2026 Volunteer Recognition Award celebrates Cassandra Austin for her outstanding volunteer commitment and leadership. Even in the early stages of her career, Cassandra has contributed enormously to CAPhO’s mission. She has played a pivotal role on the AOcpKPI Task Force, helping advance national efforts to improve consistency and quality in oncology pharmacy practice. Cassandra also serves as Co-Lead of the CAPhO Connections Podcast, where she helped revitalize the series through creative topic development, organization, and team collaboration.
