Two people wake up to the same day.

One moves with energy.
One survives it.

The difference isn’t luck.
It’s the decisions they make, the problems they choose to face, and the support they’re willing to accept.

Health rarely changes by waiting for the “right time.”
It changes when you decide you’re no longer willing to let your symptoms write your story.

Are you ready to Live Alive?

What’s the one thing that’s been standing between you and your health?

Fear?
Time?
Money?
Overwhelm?
Not knowing where to start?
Giving up after trying before?

Be honest.

Because the first step isn’t having the perfect plan.
It’s deciding you’re ready.

👇 Comment with the one thing that’s holding you back. No judgment—just honesty. Let’s start there.

Sometimes we get so caught up chasing the next goal that we forget to appreciate how far we’ve already come.

The other day, I met a little girl who reminded me of my younger self—full of dreams, curiosity, and hope. It made me wonder: would that younger version of me be proud of the life I’ve built today?

We often measure ourselves by everything we haven’t accomplished yet, instead of celebrating the milestones we’ve already reached. Life quietly passes by while we’re busy waiting for the “next big thing.”

Today, take a moment to pause. Reflect. Celebrate your growth. Practice gratitude for the person you’ve become, while continuing to work toward the person you still want to be.

Your younger self is probably cheering you on more than you realize. 💙

What’s one accomplishment you’re grateful for today?

Did you know that the way you build your breakfast can have a significant impact on your gut health?

Instead of reaching for a sugary breakfast, try this simple sequence:

🥣 Start with ginger tea, bone broth, or chicken broth.
🥒 Fill half your plate with non-starchy vegetables like cucumber, celery, leafy greens, radishes, or peppers.
🍳 Add 2–3 eggs for high-quality protein.
🍠 Include ½ cup of a complex carbohydrate such as sweet potato, potato, quinoa, oats, or brown rice.
🥄 Finish with 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt or kefir.

Why does this work?

✔️ Provides fiber to feed beneficial gut bacteria.
✔️ Supports a diverse and healthy microbiome.
✔️ Helps produce short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, which nourish the cells lining your colon.
✔️ Supports the integrity of the gut lining.
✔️ Promotes fullness and more stable blood sugar levels throughout the morning.
✔️ Provides protein, healthy fats, and phytonutrients to support long-term metabolic and digestive health.

Small, consistent habits often have the greatest impact on gut health. One meal won’t change everything overnight, but making this your daily routine can be a powerful step toward improving digestion and supporting a healthier microbiome.

📍Save this post for your next grocery trip and share it with someone who’s working on their gut health!

🌸 WOMEN’S HORMONE SUMMIT 🌸 COMMENT HORMONE FOR THE LINK!

Join us this Sunday, May 31st at 11:00 AM for an empowering and educational discussion on women’s hormones, perimenopause, menopause, and hormone replacement therapy.

Exciting news for BC women: As of March 1, 2026, many menopausal hormone therapy options are now covered through BC PharmaCare’s National Pharmacare Plan for eligible BC residents enrolled in MSP. This is a major step forward in improving access to menopause care and reducing one of the biggest barriers women have faced—cost.

At this summit, we’ll be discussing:

✨ Perimenopause vs. menopause: what changes to expect
✨ Common symptoms women often overlook
✨ The role of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol
✨ The latest evidence on menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/BHRT)
✨ Who may be a candidate for hormone therapy
✨ The “window of opportunity” and current research updates
✨ Benefits, risks, contraindications, and monitoring
✨ Weight gain, metabolism, sleep, mood, libido, and brain health
✨ Bone health and cardiovascular protection
✨ What hormone testing is—and isn’t—useful
✨ How the new BC coverage may impact your treatment options

Whether you’re currently struggling with symptoms, approaching menopause, or simply want to understand your options, this summit is designed to help you make informed decisions about your health.

Becoming certified in Functional Medicine has been one of the most meaningful investments of my life — something pursued after medical training that requires years of additional education, clinical application, mentorship, time, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to understanding the human body beyond symptoms alone.

Functional Medicine changed the way I view health and disease. It taught me to look at the body as an interconnected system rather than isolated diagnoses — to ask why symptoms are happening, not just what to label them as. It reinforced the importance of nutrition, gut health, hormones, nervous system regulation, lifestyle, environment, genetics, and the understanding that true healing often requires looking deeper at root causes and patterns.

This community is filled with practitioners who are endlessly curious, compassionate, growth-oriented, and committed to advancing patient care in a way that truly listens to people. I am so excited and grateful to officially join this community and continue bringing this perspective into the care I offer my patients every day.

“functionaldoc” was never just a username to me — it represented the vision I had for the kind of doctor I wanted to become.

Officially certified in Functional Medicine — July 2025.

And thank you to everyone in my life who supported me along the way — from the smallest acts of encouragement to the biggest sacrifices, conversations, patience, belief, and love. None of this happens alone, and I carry so much gratitude for the people who helped shape this journey.

Excited for what’s ahead 🤍

✨ My Skin Routine (and what I wish I started sooner) ✨

I used to really struggle with acne.
Breakouts, scars, trial-and-error products… all of it.

If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing, it would be this:
👉 start a consistent, simple skin routine early.

Here’s what I currently do:

🌞 Morning
• Gentle cleanse, followed by ironic acid, but not always.
• Moisturizer with copper peptides
• SPF 30 (non-negotiable)

🌙 Night
I rotate weekly between:
• Hyaluronic acid
• AHA/BHA (1x a week)
• Red light therapy
• 0.25% retinoid (2x a week)
• Vitamin C serum

Then I seal everything in with a copper peptide moisturizer again.

Every 6 weeks, I also do microneedling with exosomes to support collagen, texture, and long-term skin health ✨

If you want real nutrient density, nothing beats organ meats — and when you prepare them the Persian way, they become next-level delicious.

Soak your liver cubes in milk to soften the flavor, skewer them, then barbecue over open flame. Pair with Sangak, grilled onions, fresh herbs, and warm sangak… honestly, this is the only way liver should be eaten 😍🇮🇷

A single 100 g serving of beef liver brings:
• Vitamin A: ~300–400% of daily needs (skin, immunity, vision)
• Vitamin B12: ~1,000–1,500% of daily needs (energy, mood, red blood cells)
• Iron: ~30% DV (heme iron = highly absorbable)
• Folate: ~50–60% DV
• Copper: ~700–800% DV (antioxidant, collagen, mitochondrial health)
• Protein: ~20–23 g

It’s basically nature’s multivitamin — but grilled, juicy, and perfect with friends and good conversation 😌🔥.
