I changed my Bio to say and

It describes two things I’m deeply invested in.

Here are the three pups that we fostered, including one

Roger, from Sandy Bay Manitoba, is now almost 5 months old, 40+ lbs and is the new love of our lives.

We also had Riley and Cooper- now in their forever homes.

Check out Endless Pawsabilities Rescue and consider fostering.

Lots of pups flown into YVR every week who need a temporary (or in our case, a forever) home.

Share any doggo pics and their names in the comments too please! 🐾

👇🏼 Tell me: what’s one food/meal you never thought you’d be able to tolerate again with your IBS or diarrhea (but now can tolerate).

Or, if you’re still in the thick of it- what’s one food you would like to eat, but might need help tolerating better?

Maybe we can all help each other.

👋🏼 I’ll just be over here, pestering your GI’s office to fax me your scope’s corresponding histology report to ensure I’m seeing you’ve had random biopsies taken from several parts of your colon to rule out microscopic colitis as an explanation of your ongoing diarrhea.

Other GI-focused RDs: I know you feel me 😉

Prospective patients: Never stop advocating for yourself.

Diarrhea ALWAYS has a reason.

Happy Friday ✌️

📢 Say it with me now:

AKA: Diarrhea Always Has A Reason!

🙂‍↔️ It’s not “just how your body is”- even if you’ve had a fast gut for decades.

🙂‍↔️ If you tried low FODMAP and it didn’t help (or it stopped reliably helping) a good practitioner will look at other possible causes.

🙂‍↔️ If you’ve not been tested since your diarrhea started, or it’s been awhile since you’ve seen a Dr/NP (or if you are unsure what sorts of tests to discuss with your healthcare provider) check out my free checklist to help guide this discussion.

Diarrhea always has a fricken reason, and if your quality of life is being affected, that means something to me.

💭If I know you like I think I do, fellow diarrhea warrior, you’ve probably wondered this:

⁉️ How is it that we can solve so many complex problems in this world, but still no one has figured out the ONE drug, one therapy, one supplement, one probiotic, or one diet that has been shown to resolve IBS Diarrhea for 100% of patients diagnosed with the condition.

The answer is simple:

🗝️ People with diarrhea, bloating and abdominal pain diagnosed with IBS-D (and all the tests keep coming back negative) often have layers that need to be uncovered.

💨 Some layers are IBS-D related because the gut’s default speed is way too fast…

🎭 And some layers have nothing to do with IBS Diarrhea at all (these are referred to as IBS-D Masqueraders”) because it’s the IBS subtype that is often the most misdiagnosed.

…like my patient A found out last week- it was Sucrase Isomaltase Deficiency all along- suffering with unexplained diarrhea since she was a teenager!

🍭 FYI That’s the inability to digest sucrose, AKA regular table sugar that’s also found in foods like carrots.

🥴 Some layers also cause other layers.

🪣 If you’re ready to pop out of the “IBS Diarrhea bucket” that you were plunked in (without much in the way of testing you might have felt) and need an advocate to help you decode your diarrhea…

…with as few diet restrictions as possible…

📱 Then book a free call with me to see if you are a fit for my 1:1 private nutrition counseling program Diarrhea Decoded.

PS: The next opening for Diarrhea Decoded after the summer intake period won’t be until September 2026.

Let’s make this the first summer you aren’t struggling with random diarrhea flare-ups, shall we?

I hope to talk to you soon.

always has a reason!

💛 If you have IBS-D, I bet you know this feeling all too well.

It can get better.

I’m living proof, and so are my Diarrhea Decoded patients.

Let’s make chicken, rice and carrots a choice; but not the only choice, shall we?

Unfortunately digestive health is amongst the healthcare services that are not equally distributed amongst everyone.

The reality is, people who are:

- White
- Cis-gender male
- Young
- Thin
- Living in urban cities

have better access to health care services.

This may not always be the intention of our healthcare system, but it is real.

I see it too often.

Let’s keep talking about this, shall we?

Have you been offered “bile acid binders” for your diarrhea? 💊

IBS-D and bile acid diarrhea are often driven by an overly speedy gut due to problems with the gut–brain connection 🧠➡️🌀, not just bile acids or structural abnormalities alone.

That’s why in my diarrhea-focused program, we start from the “top down” with tools like gut-directed hypnotherapy 🧘‍♀️ to calm rapid motility before committing you to a lifelong prescription.

Want to become one of my many patients in the “Diarrhea Decoders”*club 🔍—people who finally understand the “why”their gut runs so fast and what to do about it?

Picture this...

You’re on vacation in Mexico, and you pick up a tummy bug, and the diarrhea starts.

You go to the Dr. when you get home and your IDP (Infectious Diarrhea Panel) comes back positive for Yersinia, or Campylobacter, or other bug that isn’t supposed to be there.

You get that gut bug treated; but months later you still have diarrhea.

You have another round of stool testing that shows the undesirable gut bug has been eradicated, and an additional stool test suggests pancreatic exocrine insufficiency PEI (meaning not enough pancreatic enzymes are being released into your small bowel to help break down your dietary fats, proteins, and starches).

But is it truly pancreatic exocrine insufficiency?

Or is it that small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is interfering with the stimulation of your pancreas as it pertains to release of your pancreatic enzymes (and antimicrobial bicarbonate, further encouraging SIBO to hang out).

In this video, I go over one of the IBS-D “Clusters” that can come up in my practice.

Do you have a cluster you want me to chat about?

Sometimes the best clues begin with how it all started for you.

If you need help “un-clustering” your diarrhea, apply for a call (link in bio or head to my website) to see if you’re the right fit for my programs.
