Perfect for Large Families in the summer, Retreats and Family Gatherings. The word "Carraig"in Gaelic means "Rock" and we wanted to give this place that we cherish so dearly, a name that would reflect our Irish Heritage, as well as honour the land on which it sits- Manitoulin Island- which is one very big rock. The lodge has become a year round gathering place for families, for friends and we have

had the opportunity to host some beautiful retreats over the years as well. Located directly on Silver Lake, the space consists of 4 sleeping cabins ( we can accommodate up to 16 guests) a main building with a fully equipped kitchen, comfy living and dining areas and a fantastic covered porch overlooking the lake as well as a separate cabin with laundry, shower and bathrooms. The property has an outdoor shower in the summer months and we are looking forward to the addition of a hot tub this year! We have a large fire pit with seating, a large dock, kayaks and canoes for guest use, outdoor games such as beanbag toss, giant Jenga and a horseshoe pit. Silver Lake is a quiet lake that offers a beautiful shallow entry with a sandy bottom thats perfect for all ages for swimming. There is fishing ( Perch, Walleye and Bass) and a boat launch located on the south side of the lake and the sunset views are stunning. If you are looking for the perfect spot for your next family getaway, a great place for your friends to gather or a beautiful retreat space, we invite you to connect! We respectfully acknowledge that Carraig Lodge is situated on the Traditional Territory of the First Peoples of the Three Fires Confederacy - the Odawa, the Potawatomi and the Ojibwe. We honour the relationships we have created with the Indigenous peoples of Mnidoo Mnising and are committed to continue growing these relations. We are also grateful for our connection and the continuous teachings we have received from the land and the waters. In honour of this relationship we will continue to advocate for the protection of the land and the waters for future generations.

Temporary Trail Closure!

The Michigiwadinong Cup and Saucer Trail will be closed for public safety on Friday, June 26, beginning at 6 a.m.

The trail is expected to reopen in the afternoon. Stay tuned for updates.

"Flying Veil"
Today I had a real estate shoot in Kagawong and decided to take a quick flight over Bridal Veil Falls. Unfortunately the trail is closed due to the severe flooding this past spring. The falls are such a tourist draw (and locals love it too), I hope they are able to restore the trail.

Starting next week we will have a few of the small sleeping cabins available for the rest of May and most of June- this means you will have your own private cabin for sleeping and resting- the kitchen and living areas are shared space. We have welcomed many travellers this way- who enjoy the waterfront, the great company, evening bonfires, the kayaks and canoes and of course the covered porch for morning coffee 😉 Please check out the links in the comments
