Postpartum Doula Recharge

Hello everyone. For those in Ontario I hope you are enjoying your summer!

It has been a busy year so far. Thank you for everyone who has welcomed me into their postpartum journey.

I provide many self care tips to my clients but now it is time for me to disconnect from my digital and in-person world to focus on my family and self care. I am excited to read a novel, try new recipes, hike with my partner and dog, explore the Niagara-on-the-lake area, visit my parents more and enjoy their pool and have days where nothing is planned and I can go with the flow.

While I am away you can still visit my website www.babyhelpinghands.ca to learn about the supports I provide and do head to my booking systems to book a consultation after July 12. Summer is usually when I have to-be parents reaching out to book between September to December. Click the linktr.ee link in my bio to book a consultation.

For those in Canada – I hope you are having a wonderful Canada Day today. I was born in North York, Ontario and raised in Thornhill and have called Oakville home for the past 21 years. Proud Canadian!

What make Baby Helping Hands unique?

What makes Baby Helping Hands support unique is that I provide guidance from my trainings and ongoing continuing professional development in both the fields of a doula and a registered early childhood educator (RECE).

Providing you strategies on all thing’s postpartum recovery, baby care and adjusting to parenthood.

Next Wednesday June 24 I am excited to wear my two professional hats. As a RECE I will engage with your babies as you enjoy Pilates and then flip to my Postpartum Doula hat to share strategies for maintaining everyday routine during postpartum.

See you next week.

Unpacking Motherhood

I have worked with many partners and family who are so supportive to the birth parent postpartum.

But do you ever feel that they don’t see things from your perspective or your friends don’t have children yet and cannot relate to motherhood? Coming together with moms and birth parents of all identities (even if you don’t know them) creates a space of understanding.

Julie and myself have decided to combine Pilates with sharing motherhood strategies. Bring your pre-crawling babies to pause, recharge, and connect.

Birthing Again

I too had many years between my children and at that time a public health nurse visited homes in Oakville, Ontario. The nurse was so professional when saying, “I know you are already a Mother, but many approaches you did six years ago are no longer recommended.”

Investing in a postpartum doula is beneficial for the wellbeing of yourself and your babies.

Visit www.babyhelpinghands to discover all the ways I support you postpartum.

Tears and Episiotomy

She continued to say "you need to create a session that highlights strategies you have shown me". So I have with Nicole coming next Sunday June 14 as a virtual session.

“The First Week of Postpartum: Feel Confident For Your Recovery & Feeding Journey” I will share not only multiple tips but discuss what you may see and feel with tears and episiotomy and when to call the doctor. This is one of many topics I will discuss. Here is the link to register.

Postpartum Recovery Food

Yes Postpartum Doulas cook in your home food for your recovery.

First, I recommend to my clients in their pre-visit to mark their favorite recipe books so I know which ones they want done.

I also recommend specific meals and types of foods that,
• Help their healing
• Maintains regular comfortable digestion
• Reduces inflammation
• Helps their immune defense system
• Regulates their hormones
• Provides important electrolytes
• Keeps them hydrated

At my in-person session June 13 in Burlington Ontario I will be discussing this in more detail. Click my linktr.ee in the bio for the link to register.
