On May 5, we honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.

At SAVIS, we are proud to partner with Grandmother’s Voice in their work to amplify Indigenous voices and support safer, stronger communities.

This day is about more than awareness. It is about truth, reflection, and action.

Indigenous women and girls continue to face disproportionate violence, rooted in systems that have not always protected or supported them. Recognizing this day means acknowledging those realities and committing to change.

Indigenous women are life givers, leaders, and the heart of community. Their safety matters. Their voices matter.

Through our partnership with Grandmother’s Voice, we are learning how to listen more deeply and support approaches to care that are grounded in respect, relationship, and Indigenous knowledge.

Today, we remember those who are missing and those whose lives were taken. We honour their families and communities.

And we commit to being part of a future where Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people are safe, seen, and supported.
