Belly fat after 40 is not your fault, but here is the one driver you have real control over: your blood sugar.

When you eat sugar or refined carbs on their own, your blood sugar spikes and your body releases insulin to bring it down. Insulin is a storage hormone, and after 40, with lower estrogen, that storage heads straight for your middle. A day of spikes and crashes is a day your body spends holding onto belly fat.

The fix is not cutting carbs or going hungry. It is steadying your blood sugar. Protein at every meal and plenty of fiber to slow it all down.

Comment FIBER and I will send you my free High Fiber Food Guide and add you to the waitlist for my fall belly fat challenge. I run it once a year, and the waitlist gets first access before I open the doors to everyone.

You cleaned up your sugar, you feel better, but the belly is still hanging on. If that is you, this is not a willpower problem. It is biology.

As estrogen dips in perimenopause, your body shifts where it stores fat, moving it off your hips and thighs and onto your middle. Add the muscle we naturally lose each year after forty, the muscle that keeps your metabolism working, and the way of eating that kept you lean at thirty just does not land the same way now.

None of it is your fault. And once you understand what is really driving it, you can work with your body instead of against it. That is what I am breaking down every week this summer, leading into my fall belly fat challenge.

Want a head start? Comment FIBER and I will send you my free High Fiber Food Guide, plus first access to the challenge waitlist.

Tell me below: did anyone ever explain this shift to you, or did it just show up?

I asked the women in my sugar detox how this week is going, and the wins made my day.

One said her breakfasts now keep her full until lunch. Another is loving the recipes…the grain-free flax bread, a turmeric and pumpkin smoothie, and a turkey, kale and sweet potato stir fry. A few are already down a kilo in week one. And some said that now they can detect hidden sugar in foods, which is exactly the palate shift we want.

None of this is about willpower or going hungry. It is about steadying blood sugar and giving your body what it actually needs.

If you are in this round, I am so proud of you. If you are not and you are reading this wishing you were, comment NEXT and I will let you know when the next one opens.

Tell me below: what has been your biggest win with cutting out sugar so far?

No week where everything is calm and you feel completely ready. The women who will be on the call did not wait for a perfect week. They are taking imperfect action today.

You think you don’t eat that much sugar.

I thought the same thing, until I actually tracked it.

One typical day: bagel with peanut butter, a London fog, a salad with dressing, an afternoon treat, pasta for dinner. No candy. No dessert. Total sugar? 131 grams. That’s 32 teaspoons.

The average Canadian woman is consuming the equivalent of 80 pounds of sugar per year, and most of it is hidden in foods that seem completely reasonable.

Here’s what that sugar is actually doing:
- Disrupting your hormones
- Driving belly fat
- Wrecking your energy
- Accelerating aging
- Feeding the cravings that feel impossible to ignore

And here’s what I want you to understand: sugar addiction is real. It triggers the same brain chemistry as co***ne and alcohol. This is not a willpower issue.

That’s why I created the 21-Day Sugar Detox Challenge…to give you the education, the meal plans, and the support to break the cycle for good.

Registration is open now. The challenge starts June 8th. Link in bio to join us. Or comment below or send me a DM and I’ll send you the details.

We wrapped Call 1 of the Women’s Hormone Health Program and I am fired up.

We covered the SOLVE framework, the five pillars that drive hormone balance in perimenopause and menopause, and the women in this group now know how to read their own hormone symptom patterns.

Next week we are going deep on liver health and what it has to do with stubborn belly fat after 40 (spoiler: everything).

There are still 3 live calls left and the door is still open.

If you are ready to understand what is actually going on with your hormones, and finally do something about it, the link is in my bio. Alternatively, comment below this video or send me a DM and I’ll send you the link to register.

Women’s Hormone Health (4 week small group program) starts Monday April 13.

If you have been following along and seeing yourself in these conversations, this is your moment to decide.

Not from pressure, but from clarity.

Most women I speak to already know something feels off. The hesitation is not about awareness. It is about deciding what to do next.

Inside my Women’s Hormone Health Program, we take a structured and supportive approach to understanding your body and building a plan that feels realistic.

As I have been teaching inside the Institute of Restorative Health’s Optimizing Hormones Practitioner Program, I am working with these same concepts at a practitioner level. The patterns are consistent when women have the right support.

If this feels like the right time for you, I would love to support you.

You can learn more and join us through the link in my bio or send me a DM and I’ll send you the link.

If you have been wondering what actually happens inside my Women’s Hormone Health Program, here is a simple breakdown.

You are not left to figure things out on your own. We start with understanding your hormone patterns so things make sense.

Then we move through the key foundations that influence hormone health- stress- sleep- how your body processes hormones- nutrition

Each week is focused and practical so you can actually apply what you are learning.

There is also a private group chat and live calls so you feel supported and can ask questions along the way.

As I continue teaching inside the Institute of Restorative Health’s Optimizing Hormones Practitioner Program, I am working with this same framework at a deeper level. It is designed to be both evidence based and realistic for everyday life.

Registration is open and we will be starting soon. You can learn more and register through the link in my bio or message me and I’ll send you the details.

If you have been thinking about joining but have not signed up yet, this is for you.

Most hesitation comes down to a few common thoughts
- I should be able to figure this out myself- I do not have time- What if it does not work

These are completely valid.

At the same time, most women are trying to piece together hormone information without a clear framework, while managing busy lives and changing bodies.

This is why having structure, guidance, and support can make such a difference.

As I have been teaching inside the Institute of Restorative Health’s Optimizing Hormones Practitioner Program, I have been deep in both the science and the real life application. The patterns are very consistent when women understand how to support their bodies.

My Women’s Hormone Health Program is designed to give you that clarity and structure in a way that feels manageable.
Registration is open and we will be starting soon.

You can learn more and register through the link in my bio. Or send me a message and I’ll answer all your questions.
