Wear denim in solidarity 💙

Blue Jean Jacket Day raises awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Men & Boys, an often overlooked part of the MMIWG2S+ crisis. Indigenous men and boys face high rates of violence and loss, and this day honours them and their families.

While this awareness is often recognized around June 6, we’re coming together a little early.

Join us Thursday, June 4 from 11am to 1pm at NOFCS
Free BBQ lunch and door prize

Wear your denim. Stand in solidarity.

Introducing: Lunch Hour Smudge 🌿

We’re honoured to begin offering a free monthly Lunch Hour Smudge in the NOFCS courtyard.
Join us every second Friday of the month from 12–1pm for a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Smudging is a traditional Indigenous practice used to cleanse negative energy and restore balance. The smoke is drawn over the body as a way to carry prayers, set intentions, and encourage clarity in our thoughts, words, and feelings.

We’ll be introducing this offering during our Grand Opening tomorrow—feel free to stop by between 12–1pm if you’d like to take part.

Everyone is welcome.

I'll be heading to the friendship centre tomorrow for the MMIWG2S memorial and march.

I think it's so important to honor the pain and grief this day signifies.

It makes me ill with grief thinking of all the horrible things people have gone through.
I want to help and be there to support anyone I can, if I can.

Hoping to see you all there❤️🌹🧡

❗ Red Dress Day Update ❗

A quick update that the community march will now begin at 12:00 PM.

We’ll be gathering at NOFCS starting at 11:00 AM with tea, bannock, and drumming before we head out. You’re welcome to join for any part of the day.

Yoga helps me to connect with my body when I'm too frustrated to journal or talk out my emotions and when I get overwhelmed or overstimulated.

Practicing the breath connects me to the oxygen-carbon dioxide chemical exchange within my blood and clears my sinuses, which helps my immune system and helps prevent illness.

I suffered from covid 3-5 times between 2020 and 2023, and ever since then I've been struggling with dyspnea and fatigue when exercising. I can't run as far as I used to because I get so winded.

My self care goal is do practise yoga and beathwork every evening, noontime and morning and to integrate them into my daily practise.

Hello friends!

As I grow older and wiser with each passing season, I learn more and more about self care, self love, and self respect.

Since beginning my career as a massage therapist and healthcare practitioner, I've learned so much about our beautiful free instrument given to us at birth... The only custom-fit, bespoke, tailored suit I've ever worn... The only self healing, self actualizing, self discovering, self automated, self powered, and also the most complicated and advanced vehicle in the known universe... Our body.

I've started to speak to my body more and more and I've realized I've been a bitter and jaded soul for so long.

I've punished and hurt myself and my body.

But my body is innocent! My body only ever wants me to eat, to sleep, to avoid pain, to be at peace.

My body does not deserve to be punished! Even if my soul is tortured by shame and guilt, I am a person and so is everyone I meet, even for just a moment in time.

We all need human rights, we all need care, we all need respect.

My vision for my career now... I just want to be available to the public and I want to be available to my community as a healthy, healing, safe place.

I want to help people first and foremost.

Even if I only help one person to love themselves a little bit more, to understand themselves or their bodies a little bit more, to live one day longer, it's worth all the effort and skill I can muster.

So many times I open Facebook or the news and I see another local young person end their own life.

So many of them are so young but I'm sure are facing so much pain.

I want to be there for them and for anyone else struggling with daily or chronic depression, pain, illness, or if you just need a space to talk or feel safe.

Im going to set my intentions every day and I'm going to post here something beautiful every day.

It's so easy to become bitter and jaded, despite our sadness and pain, our bodies are our temples we are guests in.

Let's treat them with respect and love.
