Cassie Williams, PhD, has practiced these methods for 28 years. She teaches a variety of trainings in Western Canada. These workshops will use a variety of techniques from several osteopathic disciplines and incorporates principles of osteopathy, martial arts and acupuncture, summoning the body to do its own gentle self-correction. By positioning the body to spontaneously release tension and using some acupressure points, releasing dominant lesions (restrictions) of the body can occur. The practitioner is acting as a facilitator so that the body may do its own self-healing. These gentle, non-invasive techniques complement other approaches, are well accepted by the body and are easy on the practitioner’s body.

C5–C6: WHY LOCATION CAN BE MISLEADING.
Pain felt around the shoulder or upper arm doesn’t always tell the whole anatomical story.
The cervical nerve roots contribute to the pathways that carry sensory information from the neck and upper limb. When a cervical nerve root is involved, symptoms can sometimes be perceived farther away from the neck.
That’s why the location of discomfort and the underlying source aren’t always the same place.
C5–C6 is one part of a much larger neural pathway involving the cervical roots and brachial plexus. The exact pattern can vary, and shoulder or arm pain can also have many other causes.
So, pain location is useful information—but it’s only one piece of the clinical picture.
Pain location ≠ always the source.
Educational content only. It does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
