𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙀𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙠𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨

We’re pleased to share that we’re making an important update to the way we deliver our newsletters. Beginning in September, our email communications will be sent through Envoke, a Canadian-owned and operated email communications platform.

This change reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting your privacy and ensuring our communications are managed through a trusted platform that meets Canadian privacy standards. With servers located in Canada, Envoke helps ensure your information remains secure and is handled responsibly.

Envoke is trusted by a wide range of Canadian organizations, including municipalities, universities, healthcare organizations, associations, and public sector organizations. Organizations using Envoke include McGill University, Cape Breton University, University of Winnipeg, District of West Vancouver, Federation for Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Speech and Hearing Health of BC, United Way Winnipeg, and many more.

In addition to enhanced privacy and security, our new newsletter platform introduces several new features designed to improve your experience:

Updated communication preferences: You’ll be able to choose which newsletters and updates you’d like to receive, ensuring your inbox contains the information that matters most to you.

Newsletter Anchor Points: Our newsletters will include anchor links, allowing you to quickly jump to the sections that interest you most for faster, easier navigation.

You may notice some small changes to the appearance and delivery of our newsletters as we transition to this new system, but our commitment to keeping you informed about our programs, events, and community remains the same.

To ensure you continue receiving our newsletters, please add our email address ([email protected]) to your safe senders list or approved contacts to help prevent messages from being directed to your junk or spam folder.

Thank you for staying connected with us. We appreciate the opportunity to share our work and updates with you.

Hey !! We are in the final weeks of Montana’s Community Booth in support of Hospice Orillia.

From June through August, 10% of your bill at the Community BBQ Booth will be donated to Hospice Orillia—at no extra cost to you. Your support helps provide compassionate care and comfort to individuals and families navigating life-limiting illness, grief, and loss in our community.

Make it a night out with friends or a family dinner with purpose. Great food, local impact, and a meaningful way to support hospice care close to home.

🌟 Love Hospice Orillia but not sure about direct client visits? This volunteer role is for you!

Not everyone feels called to client facing service—and that’s okay. Hospice Orillia is rallying Fundraising & Special Event volunteers who want to make a meaningful impact without providing direct client service.

Why volunteer with Fundraising & Events?

Make a real difference: Your efforts directly support free support for those navigating a life-limiting illness, death or grief journey, as well as community education.

Flexible & team-based: Help with set-up, registration, promotions, or behind-the-scenes planning for events like Hike for Hospice, Hot Rods for Hospice, community BBQs, and more.

Condensed training: Organizational support volunteers complete a shorter, role-specific orientation—no 30+ hours of clinical training required.

Great for many skills: Event planning, social media, admin support, community outreach, or just enthusiastic helping hands—all are welcome!

What you might do:
- Assist with special events (e.g., Hot Rods for Hospice, Hike for Hospice, Candles of Remembrance, Garden of Remembrance)
- Help promote third-party fundraisers and act as a Hospice ambassador in the community
- Support event logistics: setup, registration, money handling, teardown
- Join planning committees and attend volunteer appreciation/education sessions

How to get started:
- Submit your interest via the Hospice Orillia volunteer form
- Interview & references: A staff member will connect within 2–3 business days
- Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening)
- Complete role-specific training and a post-training check-in

📩 Questions? Contact Ashley MacGregor, Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected] or 705-325-0505 ext. 218.

💙 Whether you can give 2 hours a month or join a big event day, your time helps keep compassionate care accessible to all.

Volunteer with Hospice Orillia

Do you enjoy walking, connecting with others, and supporting people through life’s difficult moments?

Hospice Orillia is looking for compassionate volunteers to support our Bereavement Support Walking Group. This group offers individuals who are grieving an opportunity to connect with others, share their experiences, and find comfort through gentle walks and companionship.

Volunteers can help create a welcoming, supportive environment where participants feel heard, encouraged, and less alone as they navigate their grief.

No special words are needed—just kindness, empathy, and a willingness to walk alongside others.

If you’re interested in making a meaningful difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you. Please email Ashley MacGregor, Volunteer Coordinator, [email protected] or by phone at (705) 325-0505 ext. 218
