The exciting news I was hinting at!!!! ⬇️ 👀

🦶 FOOT HEALTH & MOBILITY EVENT – JULY 9 🦶

Jessie’s Foot Care is proud to partner with A.R. Menzies & Sons Ltd. for a special one-day event focused on prevention, education, mobility, and long-term foot health.

Our visions align in believing that preventative care matters. By identifying concerns early, educating clients, and providing the right support, we can often help prevent problems before they begin, slow progression, improve comfort, and enhance overall quality of life.

This event was created to help spread awareness, provide education, and empower individuals to take a proactive approach to their foot health and mobility.

Clients who book an Initial Nursing Foot Care Appointment on July 9 will receive a FREE Gait Analysis and Education Session with a Certified Orthotist from A.R. Menzies & Sons Ltd. as a complimentary add-on to their foot care appointment.

A gait analysis evaluates how you walk and move, including factors such as foot positioning, balance, pressure distribution, and movement mechanics. The assessment may help identify areas of concern and determine whether additional support, footwear modifications, or Custom Foot Orthoses may be beneficial.

✔ Professional Nursing Foot Care
✔ FREE Gait Analysis by a Certified Orthotist
✔ Education & Preventative Care
✔ Information on Custom Foot Orthoses
✔ Insurance & Veterans Affairs Coverage Information

⚠️ Only 16 new client appointments available.

Wondering if you have fungus, but can't get a clipping test ordered by a doctor? OSI is back at Jessie's Foot Care

🦶 Fungal Nail Severity Index Tool🦶

Have thickened, discoloured, brittle, lifting, or difficult-to-manage toenails?

Don’t have a family doctor or are looking for answers about whether fungus may be contributing to your nail changes?

Jessie’s Nursing Foot Care now offers:

✅ Onychomycosis Severity Index (OSI) Assessment
✅ Professional Nail Clipping Collection
✅ Advanced PCR Fungal Nail Panel Testing

A small nail clipping is collected and sent to a specialized Canadian laboratory for analysis. The laboratory tests for fungal DNA associated with dermatophytes, yeasts, and non-dermatophyte moulds commonly linked to fungal nail infections.

📋 Important:
As nurses, we do not diagnose fungal nail infections. We perform the assessment and collect the specimen. The sample is analyzed by the laboratory, and results are provided by the testing service to help guide discussions with your physician, nurse practitioner, or podiatrist regarding treatment options.

💲 Pricing:
• Fungal Nail PCR Test: $169.50
• Advanced Nursing Foot Care + PCR Fungal Test Package: $249.00

This service can be a valuable option for individuals seeking objective laboratory information about their nail health.

👏 A huge thank you to Victoria Bentley, owner of Head to Toe Healthcare, for organizing the Atlantic Foot Care Education Day!
Head to Toe Healthcare - Nursing Foot Care

As foot care nurses in Atlantic Canada, opportunities like this are invaluable. Victoria recognized the need for more education, networking, and professional development opportunities closer to home and has worked hard to create an event that brings nurses and industry professionals together right here on the East Coast.

The response has been incredible already — the event opened just one week ago and 24 of the 45 seats have already been filled! 🎉

I’ll also be there with an exhibitor table sharing information on Onyfix® nail correction and educational resources for foot care nurses. Be sure to stop by and say hello!

Attendees can look forward to:
👣 Educational presentations from industry professionals
👣 Networking with fellow foot care nurses
👣 Vendor exhibits and product knowledge
👣 Amazing door prizes
👣 Goodie bags
👣 Special guest Janis from AFCN joining everyone for the day

📅 Friday, October 23, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

✨ EXCITING NEWS! ✨

I am incredibly honoured and excited to announce that I have joined the Advanced Foot Care Nursing (AFCN) Learning Institute as a Clinical Educator! 👣💙

Teaching and education have always been passions of mine. I truly believe that knowledge empowers nurses to provide the highest standard of care, and I am committed to helping students build confidence, develop their skills, and succeed in this rewarding field.

As a business owner, LPN, and Advanced Foot Care Nurse, I understand firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to step into a new learning environment. That’s why creating a supportive, welcoming, fun, and judgment-free space for students is something I take very seriously. Every student deserves to feel valued, respected, and supported throughout their learning journey.

I couldn’t imagine a better organization to partner with. AFCN Learning Institute is recognized for its comprehensive education, ongoing mentorship, supportive learning community, and dedication to excellence in advanced foot care nursing. This isn’t just a course—it’s a complete learning experience. Students gain access to continued guidance, support groups, resources, mentorship, and ongoing educational opportunities that extend well beyond course completion and help prepare them for certification and clinical practice.

If you’re an LPN or RN interested in becoming an Advanced Foot Care Nurse, I’d love to be part of your journey!

🦶 Despite keeping between your toes clean and dry, changing socks regularly, and even using lamb’s wool between the toes...
06/06/2026

🦶 Despite keeping between your toes clean and dry, changing socks regularly, and even using lamb’s wool between the toes to help absorb moisture and reduce friction, is the skin still white, peeling, or developing an odour?

I see this often in practice.

Once the skin barrier becomes damaged, it loses some of its natural protection. This can allow fungi, yeast, and bacteria to colonize the area more easily, making it difficult for the skin to heal on its own.
Plus between your toes is dark, warm & moist- a vacation resort, all inclusive for fungi and bacteria. They be thinking they're tanning on a beach, sipping sangria in the Bahamas! 🏖️ 🍹

White, peeling skin between the toes may be related to:
• Athlete’s foot (fungal infection)
• Yeast overgrowth
• Bacterial colonization
• Chronic maceration (skin softened and damaged by moisture)

Even when you’re doing all the right things, the problem can persist because the underlying cause has not been addressed. In some cases, an antifungal treatment or other medical intervention may be needed to help restore healthy skin.

If the skin between your toes remains white, peeling, cracked, or has an odour despite your best efforts, consider having it assessed by a healthcare professional. 👣 to get you started in the right treatment plan!

💡 Foot Care Nurse Tip: If the skin remains white and peeling despite keeping the area dry and using lamb’s wool, the skin barrier may already be compromised, allowing microorganisms to continue thriving even after the original moisture problem has been corrected.
