I was honoured to be the keynote speaker in early August at an event hosted by FEK ELYON Youth Foundation at Oluremi Tinubu Hall, Surulere Local Government, Lagos Nigeria.

I had the privilege to speak to youths ages 14-18 on mental health. Today’s youths are the future generation and mentorship and guidance is required if they must succeed.

Appreciation goes to all the panelists who shared their wisdom with the youths.

Congratulations to FEK ELYON Youth foundation on the success of this inaugural event, and for a successful collaboration.

Acute Trauma - one time events like accidents, natural disaster or assaults

Chronic Trauma - Ongoing exposure- abuse, bullying etc.

Complex Trauma - Multiple, layered traumatic events over time, often beginning in childhood.

Inter generational Trauma - Pain passed down through family systems, cultures or communities

Vicarious/ Secondary Trauma - The emotional residue from witnessing or supporting others in their pain( common among caregivers, therapists, first responders.
