Most women expect their body to change during pregnancy.

What many don’t realise is that pregnancy begins affecting the pelvic floor long before labour even starts.

As your baby grows, your pelvic floor works harder every day supporting your bladder, core, and the increasing pressure inside your body.

This is why some women experience:
• Leaking when coughing or sneezing
• Pelvic heaviness or pressure
• Lower back or hip pain
• Discomfort during movement
• Feeling disconnected from their core

These symptoms are often dismissed as “just part of pregnancy.”

Common? Yes.

Something you should simply tolerate? Not necessarily.

Understanding your pelvic floor during pregnancy can help you feel more confident, better prepared for labour, and supported throughout your postpartum recovery.

đź’› Did you know pregnancy itself can affect your pelvic floor before birth?

Nobody talks enough about what happens after the baby arrives.

The wrist pain from carrying your baby.
The back pain from endless feeding sessions.
The neck and shoulder tension from rocking, soothing, and sleepless nights.
The hip and pelvic discomfort that lingers long after delivery.

So many moms are told:
“That’s normal after having a baby.”

Common? Maybe.

Something you have to live with? Not necessarily.

Your body has been through an incredible transformation, and recovery deserves just as much attention as pregnancy itself.

💛 New moms, let’s talk.

What was the most unexpected ache or pain you experienced after giving birth?

Your answer might help another mom feel less alone. 👇

Orthopaedic physiotherapy may help you move, lift, feed, and care for your baby with greater comfort and confidence.

“Will AI replace physiotherapists?”

It’s a question more healthcare professionals are being asked every day.

AI can analyse data.
AI can generate exercise programs.
AI can process information in seconds.

But can AI notice the hesitation in a patient’s voice?
Can it understand fear, frustration, or the confidence someone gains after taking their first pain-free step?
Can it adapt treatment in real time based on what it feels through skilled hands?

Healthcare has always been about more than information.

It’s about human connection, clinical reasoning, empathy, trust, and understanding the person behind the condition.

At Harmony Physiotherapy & Wellness, we believe AI will become a powerful tool in healthcare but it will never replace the human side of healing.

What do you think?

Will AI replace physiotherapists, or will it simply change how we work? 👇

You spent months caring for your growing baby.

Then came the sleepless nights, feeding schedules, lifting, carrying, and putting everyone else’s needs first.

But who is taking care of you?

The weeks after birth can bring back pain, shoulder tension, fatigue, swelling, muscle soreness, and a body that feels very different from the one you knew before pregnancy.

Postpartum massage therapy isn’t just about relaxation. It can help support recovery, ease tension, improve circulation, and give your body the care it deserves during this important transition.

Because postpartum recovery is not a luxury.
It’s part of your healing journey. 💛

Have you ever had a postpartum massage? Tell us what helped you most during your recovery. 👇

So many women grow up believing painful periods are simply something they have to tolerate.

Pelvic pain.
Lower back pain.
Pressure.
Painful cramps.
Discomfort during movement.

And over time, suffering quietly becomes “normal.”

But menstrual health and pelvic health are deeply connected and sometimes, your body may be asking for support instead of silence.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, let’s create better conversations around periods, pelvic health, and women’s wellbeing. Because women deserve education, support, and healthcare without shame or dismissal. 💛

At Harmony Physiotherapy & Wellness, we believe support exists and your body deserves better.

She keeps saying, “I’m fine.”
Even when getting out of bed hurts.
Even when her back aches all day.
Even when she feels exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from her own body.

Pregnancy changes everything physically, mentally, emotionally.
But somewhere along the way, many women were taught to quietly tolerate it instead of asking for support.

This is your reminder:
You do not have to wait until things become unbearable to ask for help. đź’›

At Harmony Physiotherapy & Wellness, we help support women through pregnancy with pelvic health care, labour preparation, movement support, and practical strategies to help you feel more confident in your body not fearful of it.

Because preparing for labour is not just about the baby.
It is about supporting the mother too.

Most women are told to “just do Kegels.”
But very few are actually taught how to do them properly.

Because pelvic floor strengthening is not only about squeezing.
Relaxation matters too.

A good Kegel involves:
• Fully relaxing the pelvic floor while breathing in
• Gently lifting and contracting while breathing out
• Allowing the muscles to fully let go again after each contraction

And no stronger does not always mean tighter.

The pelvic floor works with your breath, core, posture, and entire body. Which is why doing endless random Kegels without understanding the movement often creates more confusion than results.

Sometimes the issue is not weakness.
Sometimes it is tension, poor coordination, or lack of awareness.

Save this for the next time someone casually says “just do Kegels.” 👀
