😴 Sleep is Your Superpower!
This week is Student Sleep Health Week, an initiative from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) highlighting the importance of healthy sleep for children and teens.
With school, sports, homework, social activities—and plenty of screen time—getting enough sleep can sometimes take a back seat. In fact, an AASM survey found that parents identified video games (51%) and social media (44%) as the biggest activities interfering with their children’s sleep routines.
But sleep matters. The AASM recommends:
🛌 Ages 6–12: 9–12 hours per night
🛌 Ages 13–18: 8–10 hours per night
Adequate, consistent sleep helps support students’ focus, learning, physical health, emotional well-being, and overall performance.
This Student Sleep Health Week, let’s remind students and families that making sleep a priority is one of the best things we can do for growing minds and bodies.
💙 Sleep is your superpower. Make time for it.
