For this special People's Choice issue, the agenda is yours!

Potential topics include:

👉 Emerging trends that planners should be paying attention to
👉 Reflections on how planning practice is changing and where it may be headed next
👉 Innovative approaches, tools, or solutions you are implementing
👉 Thought-provoking opinions or "hot takes" on opportunities and risks facing the profession

We encourage submissions from planners working in all sectors, communities, and career stages.

📣 We are now accepting Project Summary Applications for the 2027 Canadian Awards for Planning Excellence!

The application process is just three short steps:

👉 Submit a project summary telling us what the project is, who was involved, and how it demonstrates excellence
👉 The Jury will determine a shortlist of applicants who will be notified by December 2026
👉 Shortlisted applicants will submit a more detailed application by January 15, 2027

Projects can include plans, studies, publications, tools, media, and more!

⏰ Application Deadline: October 5, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT

There's no application cost, and anyone can apply (CIP membership is not required).

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 CIP/ICU Planning Student Trust Fund (CIP-PSTF) bursary program.

Applicants must be:

👉 A student member of the Canadian Institute of Planners
👉 Enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian planning program
👉 In need of financial assistance to support their education

Applications are open and accepted until October 18, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
