Hungry or thirsty?💧🍽️

Sometimes we eat when we’re actually thirsty. Sometimes we reach for a drink when our body really needs food. Both are completely normal and neither deserves judgment.

When your electrolytes (especially sodium) are low, your body can feel fatigued, foggy, and low on energy. Those sensations can sometimes be confused with hunger, making it harder to interpret your body’s cues.

Learning to tell the difference isn’t about following food rules or trying to eat “perfectly.” It’s about building body awareness, reconnecting with your hunger and fullness cues, and developing a more trusting relationship with food.

The goal isn’t to get it right every time. The goal is curiosity, not judgment.

Burnout isn’t always obvious. It can show up as feeling flat, unmotivated, or like you’re constantly behind — even when you’re trying your best. What often gets labeled as “laziness” is actually mental and emotional overload that your system can’t keep pushing through.

Here are 6 signs you might be mentally exhausted, not lazy — and why your body might be asking you to slow down. 🫶🏻

Some of the biggest shifts in my thinking didn’t come from doing more… but from seeing things differently.

A few reminders I come back to often. If one lands for you, save it for later. 🤎

Your brain changes through neuroplasticity. Repetition reshapes how you respond to stress and discomfort.

So doing hard things on purpose does help rewire patterns like avoidance and fear.

But intensity isn’t what drives change. Consistency is.

You don’t need pressure to grow.
You need repetition of new patterns.

That’s the real “life hack.”
Not waiting to feel ready—training the system that creates readiness.

What if the donut isn’t the problem?

For so many people struggling with food, it feels like the answer is more control, more discipline, more rules. But often, the stress, guilt, and preoccupation with food isn’t coming from the donut itself. It’s coming from everything we’ve been taught to believe about it.

Diet culture doesn’t just tell us what to eat. It teaches us how to feel about eating.

And over time, that creates food noise: the constant mental back-and-forth, the guilt after eating, the “I was good so I shouldn’t” rules that feel automatic.

The goal isn’t to fight harder with food.

It’s to start getting curious about the patterns underneath it:
Where did these rules come from?
What happens when restriction loosens?
What does your body actually need?

Healing your relationship with food usually isn’t about more control.
It’s about rebuilding trust with yourself around food again.

Sleep gets talked about a lot… but it’s still one of the most underrated mental health tools we have!!

Because when sleep is off, everything feels louder — anxiety, emotions, overwhelm, irritability… even small things can feel like too much. And sometimes it’s not a “coping issue,” it’s just exhaustion.

One small but powerful shift?
Wake up around the same time every day 🌞

It helps set your circadian rhythm (your body’s internal clock), which then supports more regular melatonin release at night — meaning your body naturally starts to feel sleepy at a more consistent time too.

It’s not about being rigid. It’s about giving your nervous system a steady rhythm instead of constant change.

Small consistency > perfect routines 💛
