On April 1st, 2015 three women started something new and unique to this area. National Capital Doulas was the first of its kind in Ottawa and became something fabulous, something those three women were very proud of and worked hard to create. Over the years the women who were part of NCD changed somewhat, each adding something to our rich story.
It was a wonderful beginning, an even better middle, and now we’ve reached the bittersweet end.
Jenn and Amie have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to National Capital Doulas. You may be wondering why we have made this decision and there are multiple factors. Know this hasn’t been easy – it has pulled at our hearts and our heads, but we know it’s the right choice. It’s time.
We can’t go without thanking every single person who has contributed to our story. We have supported thousands of families throughout this great region. We’ve learned something from each and every one of you, and hope we in turn made a difference for you.
We have been lucky to have many supporters in our community, and hope you feel we’ve returned that in kind.
Even though this is goodbye to NCD, it is hello to something new. Re:birth is our new beginning, our rebirth. Our hearts lie with teaching – expecting families, new families, and doulas alike. As we wind down you will see changes happening here moving us to our new story.
Farewell NCD – you’ll always be special to us. ♥️
