🌿 TEACHING TIP: YOUR PERSONAL PRACTICE IS YOUR FOUNDATION 🧘♀️
“As a yoga teacher, you can only guide your students as deeply as you are willing to go in your own practice.”
Your personal practice is more than preparing for the next class or refining your asana. It’s where you experience the teachings of yoga for yourself.
✨ Three reminders for every yoga teacher:
1. Be a student first.
Continue exploring, questioning, studying, and learning. The willingness to remain a student keeps your teaching fresh, humble, and authentic.
2. Practise what you teach.
Experience the challenges, the stillness, the discomfort, and the insights that arise when you make space for yoga in your own life. This lived experience brings depth and understanding to your teaching.
3. Keep going beyond the mat.
Yoga is not just what happens in a class. How you respond to challenges, relate to others, and meet yourself with honesty and compassion is also part of your practice.
💛 Remember: Students don't need perfection. They need a teacher to be sincere, present, and committed to their own growth.
The deeper your relationship with yoga becomes, the more thoughtfully you can share its teachings with others.
🎓 At PranaShanti Education Centre, we believe becoming a yoga teacher is not simply about learning how to teach a class. It is an ongoing journey of personal practice, study, and self-discovery.
