The Men & Healing team had a really uplifting day at the WOW Festival hosted at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. We connected with so many community and resource partners today- we are completely out of pamphlets and swag!

It is incredible to see how much this event has grown over the years from its inception.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth: our hearts are full hearing about the amazing work being done by other agencies in support of the community, and the inspiring stories we heard about people’s recovery journeys. We hope to cross paths again! 🙏❤️

We also hope to be a contributing voice in our community as a recovery ally - working towards dismantling stigma around substance use and men’s mental health. Improving quality of life means creating an environment where men feel safe to speak openly about their struggles without fear of labels or judgment.

When we replace judgment with compassion and curiosity, we don't just change lives—we save them.

In September we hold space for two deeply connected realities: Complex PTSD Awareness Month and Su***de Prevention Month.

To the men in our community who are quietly carrying the weight - we see you. Society often teaches men to silence their struggles, but true strength is not about carrying a heavy burden alone. It is about the immense courage it takes to survive, to feel, and to heal. The world is better with you in it.

Your lived experiences are valid, and you do not have to walk this path in isolation.

Healing from complex trauma takes time, and there is no shame in seeking a safe space to process it. If you are struggling, please reach out. We are here to walk alongside you with compassion, understanding, and unwavering support.

We offer individual and group therapy for healing from complex trauma.

Our next Trauma Recovery Intensive is September 18-20, 2026, and there are still spaces left to register. This intensive leads to our long term Phase II group, which meets weekly online so you can continue the work of integrating the tools in real time to your life.
