Outlook Funeral Chapel

Outlook Funeral Chapel Megan continues this legacy with unwavering dedication and care. In 2009, I made the decision to go back to school and start my career in funeral service.

For over 60 years, Outlook Funeral Chapel has been a pillar of support for families, offering comfort in difficult times and providing personalized services with care and compassion. As a single mother of two young children, working as an EA in the Saskatoon public school system was both rewarding and provided a great work-life balance. However, I soon realized that it wasn’t a career that could f

ully support my children, and I wanted more—for them and for myself. From the moment I stepped into this profession, I knew I had found my path. Finding balance wasn’t always easy, but we made it work. Fast forward through three cities in Saskatchewan and three different funeral homes—I had the privilege of learning from some of the most experienced 30+ year funeral directors in our province. Their guidance and mentorship shaped me into the professional I am today. Throughout the years, I often spoke with Floyd about my dream of coming home. In 2022, an opportunity arose that I simply couldn’t turn down—the chance to buy Outlook Funeral Chapel and return to my roots. It was a dream I had carried for years, and now, with 16 years in funeral service, I am honored and privileged to serve the communities I grew up in. This journey has been an incredible blessing beyond comprehension, and I am grateful for it every single day.

📦 New Arrival at Outlook Funeral Chapel 📦

Today we're unboxing one of the newest additions to our selection room—a beautiful companion urn.

Companion urns are designed to hold the cremated remains of two individuals and are most often chosen by spouses who wish to remain together. However, they can also be selected by any two people who shared a special bond and wish to be memorialized together.

Recently, I attended a funeral convention in Saskatoon and had the opportunity to explore new products and ideas available to families. As a result, we're bringing in several new urn options—some that are brand new to the market and others that are simply new additions to our showroom.

We believe every family is unique, and having a variety of choices helps families find something that truly reflects their loved one's life and personality.

Take a look at this companion urn and let us know what you think in the comments.

In Loving Memory of
Garner William Dawe
December 12, 1937 – April 2, 2026

Garner William Dawe passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the Dinsmore Health Care Centre, at the age of 88.

A Celebration of Life, Come and Go Tea honouring the memory of Garner Dawe will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Dinsmore Seniors Hall, Dinsmore, SK.

Donations in Garner’s memory may be directed to the Dinsmore Health Centre Foundation c/o Dinsmore Village Office, Box 278, Dinsmore, SK S0L 0T0. To share memories, express condolences, and additional details, please visit outlookfuneralchapel.com. The family is being cared for by Outlook Funeral Chapel (306.867.8255).

Garner was born in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, the third of four boys. He attended Wiseton School and began working at a young age. Over the years, he worked with C.N.R., the Federal Grain Company, and later with John Kutz at Elrose. He spent much of his life working with construction equipment, eventually running his own business, Dawe Construction, and working with many rural municipalities. He also often helped his wife with her bus route, driving the local school bus in the Wiseton area. Stories are still told today by school kids about his off-road driving through puddles and snowbanks. He eventually retired from work after becoming the Foreman at the R.M. of Monet in 2008. In his later years, he could usually be found cruising the countryside in his old Mazda truck, window down and holding a cigarette, with his dog by his side.
Garner had a love for Ford and vintage cars, stock car racing, and was a proud member of the Dusty Wheels Car Club. His pride and joy was his 1956 Crown Victoria, “Suzy.”
He married Lorraine on December 20, 1974, and together they built a life centered on hard work and family.
Garner was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine; stepchildren Kirk Gibson and Sherry Sorochuk; his parents, George and Nellie Dawe; brothers George, Harold, and Mervyn; and half-siblings Meredith, Melville, Laura, Clarence, Lawrence, and Cecil. All spouses have passed with the exception of Janet Dawe.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Shaunna (John) Annala, whom he raised from infancy, and her children and grandchildren, as well as his stepchildren, Owen Gibson and Colleen (Kent) Smith and their families, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Garner will be remembered for his hard work. He was a loving father, a proud and loving grandfather, and a man with a stubborn streak and a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor. Anyone who truly knew him knew that behind that sarcasm was a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
“Love you forever.”

Wesley Lloyd Jansen
1958 - 2026
Wesley Lloyd Jansen, age 68, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at Lucky Lake Care Home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 3, 1958, Wes was born in Lucky Lake and raised on the family farm outside of Beechy, where he attended Beechy School. Ranching was not just his livelihood, but his passion. Wes took great pride in his Black Angus cattle and dedicated his life to the land and the rural way of life he loved so deeply.
In 1982, Wes met the love of his life, Sandra Verwimp, in Beechy. Their love story grew quickly, and they were married in 1984, building a life together centered on family, farming, and community.
A devoted community member, Wes believed strongly in giving back to Beechy and the surrounding area. He coached his children’s ringette and hockey teams and enjoyed playing hockey himself with the Beechy Bombers. Over the years, he served on the rink board, including serving as president, and was a familiar face at the Beechy Rodeo, where he worked in the stripping chute. Wes also dedicated countless hours to public service, serving the R.M. of Victory for 10 years, 8 of which were as Reeve. He sat on the Beechy Community Pasture Board for many years, including helping oversee the bulls.
Above all else, Wes was a family man. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra; his children, Stacey Jansen, Anita Jansen (Josh Knaap), and Travis Jansen (Dana Jansen); and his cherished grandchildren, Stetson, Stella, Stevie, and Wesley. He is also survived by his siblings, Ross Jansen, Darleen Kien (Brian Kien), Wayne Jansen (Kim Jansen), and Terrie Loitz (Clarke Loitz), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wes was predeceased by his parents, Joop and Constance Jansen; his father-in-law, Frank Verwimp; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Jansen; and his nephew, Carter Jansen.
Wes will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to his community, his love of ranching, and the quiet kindness he showed to everyone around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with Wes’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Wes simply wanted everyone to raise a glass, share stories, and remember the good times.
Family and friends are invited to a Come and Go Social Gathering at the Beechy Community Hall on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 4:00 pm. to celebrate his life and have a drink in his memory.
Donations in Wes’ memory may be directed to Beechy Western Days. To share memories and express condolences, please visit outlookfuneralchapel.com.

Nolan Philip Haugen
March 16, 2000 – May 11, 2026
It is with broken hearts that the family of Nolan Philip Haugen announces his sudden and tragic passing on May 11, 2026, as the result of a motor vehicle accident near the family farm.
Nolan was born on March 16, 2000, to Tim and Patti Haugen. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his mom and dad; his siblings, Mike (Jenn), and their son Declan, Colby (Rileigh), and baby on the way, and Sophia and her boyfriend Joel; Nolan’s girlfriend Madi; grandparents Bev and Dan; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, teammates, and countless friends.
Nolan attended school in Kenaston, LCBI, and Sask Polytech, where he became a Journeyman Mechanic. He worked at Young’s Equipment in Davidson and truly loved both his job and the people he worked with. He was a great mechanic and an even better friend.
Nolan had a way of lighting up a room anytime he walked in and could make anyone laugh. He loved to joke around and always saw — and brought out — the best in every situation. He had a strong work ethic, cared deeply for the people around him, and lived life to the fullest.
Family meant everything to Nolan, and he especially loved being a brother and an uncle. He also loved hockey, and what a gift it was for the family to have all three brothers play together — memories that will be treasured forever.
We begin to remember not just that he died but that he lived, he laughed, loved, showed up, and left pieces of himself in all of us. His life gave us memories too beautiful to forget and love too strong to disappear. He will be greatly missed by so many.

A Celebration of Nolan’s Life will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Outlook, SK.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed through the link https://www.youtube.com/.

In memory of Ryan Daren Cooper January 12, 1965 - April 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ryan Cooper of Outlook at the age of 61.

He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his children: George (Alethea) and Molly (Riley Smith), and his grandson Jonah, as well as his partner Marilee Brown, her children Matthew, Patrick, and Mikalya, and his brother Regan (Barb), sister Holly (Greg Doell), and his nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Norman in 2006 and Lynne (née Bowen) in 2025.

Ryan was the firstborn son of Norman and Lynne Cooper, and they adored him. He enjoyed a carefree childhood in Macrorie, Saskatchewan, riding bikes, playing sports, building rafts, and having fun. If he wasn’t out at a friend’s farm, everyone was at the Cooper house in town. With his first pack of hockey cards and dusty gum, Ryan became a collector. Along with sports cards, he collected vinyl records, works of art, memorabilia, mementos, and most importantly, friends. And if he called you his friend, it was literally for life. He was magnetic, charismatic, and entertaining.

Ryan loved all sports but was most enthusiastic about baseball. Growing up, he played high-level ball, and when that ended, he became a very lively and emotionally charged fan - especially of the Blue Jays and every team his nephew ever played on. His love of the sport came full circle when he and his son coached his grandson’s team just last year.

He was successful at almost anything he tried, and he tried a lot of different things. Throughout his life, he had many jobs that he enjoyed, but the work was never his passion; it was the people he made connections with along the way. Silence and idleness were not his friends. Outside of work, he was always finding ways to fill his time: fixing something, painting, building, or working in the yard. When evening came, he would listen to music and call to check in on friends and family. The perfect ending to any day was sitting by a crackling fire with friends, a smoke in one hand and a drink in the other, listening to music that soothed his soul.

He was a loving, caring, and fiercely protective partner and father. He shared his love of the outdoors, fishing, music, and sports with Marilee, George, and Molly. He taught his children to believe in themselves, never give up, and that anger doesn't really fix anything. When his grandson was born, his world changed, and he changed. Family became his renewed focus, and he was determined to share all the time, knowledge, and joy that he could with that boy. They were almost inseparable, and there is no doubt that his lively spirit will live on in Jonah.

Work hard; play hard; love always.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 4:00 pm at the Macrorie Hall, Macrorie, SK. Donations in Ryan’s memory may be directed to an Education Trust for his cherished grandson, Jonah Cooper-Smith (Prosperity Credit Union, 120 Saskatchewan Ave E, Outlook, SK S0L 2N0). For those unable to attend, a recording of the service will be made available on our website and Facebook in the days following.
