I’ve had SO many people send me the viral LeAnn Rimes jaw release video, so here’s my professional take.

As someone who treats jaw pain and TMJ issues every day, I need to say this clearly:

Jaw treatment should never feel like something you have to “push through.”

You can literally hear the man in the video saying “you got it” like she’s powering through a workout.

This is not a deadlift.

Pain is not proof that treatment is working.

Unfortunately, videos like this are one of the reasons so many people become afraid of getting help for their jaw.

Good care means your Therapist checks in with you, doesn’t make you « push through » the pain, and ALWAYS works wishing your tolerance.

If you work with jaw pain clients, share this with your patients and colleagues.

And send this to anyone who thinks jaw treatment is supposed to be brutal.

You’ve been told your ears are “fine.”
But you still have pain, fullness, or ringing.

Here’s the part most people aren’t told:

Sometimes the problem isn’t the ears at all.

It can come from:
• tight jaw muscles
• a stressed nervous system
• the way you swallow

I see this all the time in my clinic.

That’s why during an assessment we look beyond the ears and check:

• the jaw muscles that refer into the ear
• whether your nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight
• how your tongue and swallow are functioning

Then we build a treatment plan based on what’s actually driving the symptoms.

If your ears have been checked and you were told everything is normal…
it might be time to look at your jaw.

If resting your tongue up feels hard…it’s not a failure.

It’s often a sign your jaw has been compensating for something else.

I see this pattern all the time in people with jaw pain, headaches, and tension that keeps coming back.

If jaw pain had ONE cause, this would be way less annoying.

But it usually doesn’t.

Most jaw pain is a group effort, and the usual suspects include:

• Mouth breathing
• Clenching (day or night)
• Low tongue posture
• Oral habits (hello gum, nails, pen caps 🙃)
• Forward head posture
• Airway & sleep issues

And honestly? This isn’t even the whole list.

That’s why quick fixes rarely stick.

You might calm one piece… while the others keep stirring the pot.

The goal isn’t to “fix everything at once.”
It’s to figure out which drivers matter most for your jaw, then actually address those.

If this felt uncomfortably accurate, you’re not broken. Your jaw just wants a smarter plan.

Most people don’t ignore pain because they don’t care.

They ignore it because they’re busy. Tired. Managing everything else.

But adapting to pain isn’t the same as resolving it.

You don’t have to wait until it gets worse to get support.

If this feels familiar, it might be worth a closer look.

Jaw pain got you spiraling into Google doom?

Let’s clear something up:

not everyone who says they treat TMJ… actually knows what they’re doing. 🙃

If your “treatment plan” has been:

👉 Soft food diet
👉 Heat pack
👉 Vibes and prayers

…you’ve been underwhelmed. And under-treated.

Here’s what a legit TMJD provider brings to the table.

🧠 They ask about breathing, sleep, posture, and your nervous system — not just “point to where it hurts”

📞 They actually know and refer to other pros: dentist, physio, ENT, sleep specialists.

💪 They give you HOMEWORK — because your jaw doesn’t fix itself between appointments.

🚩 They don’t rely on cookie-cutter protocols or blame you when “it’s still tight”

✨ The jaw is complex. Your provider should be, too. (In a good way)

You deserve someone who gets that TMJD is not just a jaw issue — it’s a whole-body, whole-person situation.

📥 DM me if you’re tired of the runaround and want help finally saying goodbye to jaw pain.

And for the love of all things clicking and popping — save this for later. Your future self will thank you.
