Blessed Litha & Happy Summer Solstice!

Today we celebrate Litha, the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. In Celtic traditions, this sacred turning point in the Wheel of the Year marks the height of the sun’s power, and honours the sun that is at its absolute zenith. It is a time to honour abundance, fertility, growth, and the deep connection between people and the natural world.

Celtic communities celebrated the midsummer season with gatherings, feasting, music, storytelling, and bonfires believed to bring blessings, protection, and prosperity for the months ahead.

As the sun reaches its peak, may we take a moment to give thanks for the light in our lives, celebrate the fruits of our efforts, and welcome the warmth, joy, and abundance of the season.

Litha Blessings! ☀️

Beltane Blessings!

Beltane arrives like a quiet remembering, remembering that life wants to bloom, that warmth returns, and that we are meant to feel alive in our bodies again.

This is the turning point in the Wheel of the Year when the Earth stretches open, when blossoms dare to show themselves, and when the energy of creation hums just beneath the surface of everything - a gentle invitation to step out of the shadows of winter and into something brighter, fuller, more expressed.

Beltane reminds us that growth doesn't need to be forced. It happens when we tend to what matters, when we nourish what feels true, and when we allow joy and connection to take up space again in our lives. It's traditionally a time to celebrate vitality - in the land, in our relationships, and within ourselves.

Welcome Spring Equinox, or Ostara! We are at a turning point in the Wheel of the Year when day and night are equal in length. The name Ostara is often linked to the Germanic goddess Eostre, who is associated with dawn, fertility, and new beginnings. We are emerging from winter’s dormancy into a season of growth, renewal, and increasing light. This is a time to honour the reawakening of the Earth when the land begins to stir – animals reproduce, seeds are planted, and light eventually overtakes darkness. As you’re able, I invite you to take a moment to explore a gentle ritual as we move through this time of balance: reflect on what is still in ‘winter’ within you, and equally, what is just beginning to grow?

✨Celtic Yule Blessings ✨
Celtic Yule marks the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year and the sacred turning point on the Wheel of the Year when the light is reborn to us. Honoured by the ancient Celts as a time of deep stillness, Yule reminds us that even in darkness, renewal is quietly taking root beneath the surface. The returning sun symbolizes hope, resilience, and the promise of new beginnings yet to come.

Spiritually, Yule invites us to slow down, rest, and reflect on the lessons of the past year while gently releasing what no longer serves us. It is a powerful moment to set intentions for the months ahead, trusting that what we nurture now will grow as the light returns. May this season bring warmth to your hearth, clarity to your heart, and peace to your days as the light emerges once more.

Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”) originated as an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, typically celebrated around October 31st. It was believed that on this night, the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead was thinnest, allowing spirits to cross over. Traditionally, people lit bonfires and wore disguises to ward off wandering souls. Over time, as Christianity spread throughout Ireland, Samhain blended with All Saints’ Day traditions, eventually evolving into the modern celebration of Halloween as we know it today. Happy Halloween everyone!

And so turns the Wheel of the Year and here we are at Mabon, the Celtic festival marking the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are in perfect balance. In the Celtic tradition, Mabon is linked to the story of the god Mabon, a divine child of light and son of the mother goddess, who symbolizes rebirth and the cycle of life. It is a time of giving thanks for the harvest, reflecting themes of fertility, balance, and the turning of the seasons. Offerings of apples, grains, wine, and nuts were made to the land and deities, both in gratitude for the harvest and as a blessing for the coming dark months. Spiritually, Mabon invites us into reflection, finding our balance, showing gratitude to the earth, and releasing what no longer serves us as the seasons shift toward winter. Mabon Blessings everyone!
