We are pleased to share that WPSHC is no longer in Code Gridlock.

A sincere thank you to our staff, physicians and partners for your extraordinary hard work, and collaboration.

While this Code Gridlock has ended, we continue to experience higher-than-normal patient volumes. We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of our patients, families and community as our teams work to provide safe, timely care.

West Parry Sound Health Centre is currently in Code Gridlock due to a high number of patients.

Code Gridlock means the hospital is at or above full capacity. Patients may be cared for in overflow areas, and wait times may be longer than usual.

As we head into the long weekend, WPSHC wants to encourage everyone to celebrate safely and to be mindful of our local health care services.

Please plan ahead, take precautions while travelling or enjoying the outdoors, and make safe choices throughout the weekend. A little preparation can go a long way toward a safe and enjoyable long weekend. Thank you for looking out for yourself, your loved ones, and our community.

Our team is working hard to provide safe, compassionate care, but patients may experience longer-than-usual wait times and delays.

We understand that waiting can be difficult, particularly when you or a loved one is unwell. We appreciate your patience, understanding and kindness toward our staff and one another as we work to support everyone in our care.

For non-urgent health concerns, you may wish to consider other care options such as:

- Contacting your primary care provider.
- Calling Health811 at 811 to speak with a
qualified health professional.
- Asking a local pharmacist about assessment and treatment for eligible minor ailments.
-Contact the North East Virtual Care Clinic at 1-888-684-1999 for a virtual appointment with a nurse practitioner.

As always anyone requiring serious medical attention should call 911 or visit the nearest Emergency Department.
