What a great idea !

Attention Parents in the Parry Sound Area!

Are you looking for something to occupy your kids for 10, 20, maybe even 30 minutes? We've got just the thing!!

We're having a colouring contest for kids 12 and under! Come to our office at 116 William St to pick up the colouring sheets. There will be a great prize for each age category: 5 and under, 6-9, and 10-12.

Contest closes at noon on July 10 so make sure you have your completed artwork in by then. Winners will be chosen the afternoon of Friday July 10.

Today is National Pink Day and what is that you may ask? Here is the definition from Google -
"National Pink Day is observed annually on June 23. It is a grassroots celebration dedicated to celebrating the diverse meanings, history, and beauty of the color pink."
Staff and residents have joined the fun and have everything from top to bottom covered ! Sometimes being silly is just so much fun !

Sometimes you just need to do a photodump ! Today out pub theme was "Under The Sea", a staff member is a very awesome artist, a friendly special visit from a Luna Moth, celebrated licorice day taste testing and we painted some rocks for our front garden !

National Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Definition: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Elder Abuse is defined as:
“A single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person.”

Elder abuse is not just physical abuse. Other forms of abuse include psychological, financial, sexual and neglect. Approximately 8% – 10% of seniors experience some form of elder abuse each year in Canada.

Getting some outdoor time in when we can. Few more planters to do this week but the ladies did great arranging the flowers in the pots.

Each month we choose a different flavour to taste test and this time was caramel ! We tasted, we did trivia and reminisced about our favourites ☺️ Do you prefer it as a topping on ice cream, in cookies, or just a good ole werthers hard or soft caramel ?

Last week we took in a "Let's Learn" session all about turtles to promote the importance of them in our environment and how to protect them. A staff member drew on the black board and was to cute not to share !

Yesterday we got spring crafty with flowers. If you use the bottom of a pop bottle dipped in paint and put on canvas/paper you get a perfect shaped flower !
