Get to know our Peace River office! Opened in 2021 by Kristi and Kolton Heck. Peace Valley Funeral Home Peace River is exclusively owned and operated by Kristi and Kolton Heck - born and raised in Fairview, Alberta, and partners Doug and Eunice Friesen. You will find funeral directors Hannah Lawrence and Krista McKen primarily at this office, with occasional appearances from Brieanna Neill and Shauna Welander.

Our space for services holds about 80 people comfortably, but has accommodated 80-100 people slightly uncomfortably.

We invite families of all cultural and faith backgrounds to practice their funeral traditions freely in our space; smudging, singing, blessings, etc. are all welcome.

We are proud to share photos of our facility, located on West Hill behind United Floors. Through the vision, dedication, and hard work of Kristi, Kolton, and their families, this beautiful space was created to welcome families as they say goodbye, celebrate cherished lives, share memories, laugh, cry, and grieve together in a place of comfort and care. ❤️

Behind the Scenes: A few months ago, a family in our care graciously gifted us their loved one's plant collection. Today, as Brieanna was walking around tending to them, she noticed the African Violets were blooming, and it reminded her of this quote:

"Flowers are not supposed to last, their job is to help us stay in the present. They grow, they blossom, they thrive, and then they're gone. You have to stay in the present, you have to stop, you have to be in the moment. Otherwise, you're going to blink, and they're going to be gone."

Much of the same can be said about life. We are so honoured to be given the privilege of carrying on this person's memory through their plants. 🌿💜
