Weโre doing that
Weโre changing how the generations after us view children and parenting. This evolution is crucial and should be celebrated. Itโs not always easy but I do think itโs necessary. For the most part, society has evolved to see forced respect and โloveโ as not love at all, but coercive control. Still there is heightened tolerance for this perspective in the parenting realm. We see being responsible for someone else as having control over them. How can I be responsible for their well-being without having control over them? Itโs a hard questionโฆ it shouldnโt be but it is because weโve had so few examples of collaborative parenting. Of connection over correction.
