Actions like this are why Pride matters more than ever.

We are saddened to report that the Pride flag displayed at our church was stolen.
This act affects more than a piece of fabric. For many people, the Pride flag is a visible sign that they are welcomed, valued, and safe. Its removal may cause hurt and concern, particularly for 2SLGBTQ+ members of our community who rely on these symbols of inclusion and belonging, especially in our small town.
We recognize the impact this incident may have on people's sense of psychological safety and well-being. We remain committed to being a place where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and care.
In the meantime, our commitment to supporting and affirming LGBTQ+ people remains unchanged.
Our doors are open for anyone who needs to come in and chat.

June is Pride Month

Pride is more than just a celebration.

Pride is a protest.

A movement that has slowly pushed the dial on the rights and freedoms of LGBTQIA2S+ people around the world.

In 2026, Pride is just as important as it was when the movement started. Laws are being passed in Canada rolling back protections for Transgender individuals. Pride organizations are losing funding because businesses are afraid of being seen as “woke”. In countless countries around the world it remains illegal to be gay, often punishable by death.

The physicians and staff at Waves will continue to stand up for and support our LGBTQIA2S+ community, this month and all months.

Because we know the fight isn’t over.
