Day Twenty
The pancreas!

Let's all take care our pancreas!

We can do so by chewing our food well, but not rushing when we eat, by drinking room temperature water during meals by taking small sips at most.

We can also do our best to balance our blood sugar so that we don't overburden this amazing organ.

In my bio is a link to join my mailing list where you will also receive my free guide that is filled with recipes, information, and achievable strategies that help to get those unstoppable cravings under your control.

See you tomorrow for day twenty one!

Day Nineteen
The trifecta!

In my yummy cabbage soup as an example:

Where's the protein?
(Red lentils!)

Don't fear the fat!
(Organic canola oil)

Friendly fibre!
(Homegrown cabbage, onions, garlic, kale, as well as red lentils and potatoes)

The reason why these elements are so important is because they help to keep you satiated longer.

The carbohydrates in these foods are also complex (particularly the lentils!) which means they provide the body with more sustained energy, resulting in less of a need for quick energy.

Day Eighteen
Just one more!

The craving busting trifecta:
Where's the protein?
Don't fear the fat!
Friendly fibre!

When I mention about how important it is to incorporate these three elements into every meal and snack, it might be challenging to alter old habits and to think about changes you can make.

Some quick ideas might include:

One more teaspoon of h**p hearts in your morning smoothie

One more type of veggie in your salad at lunch

One more egg in your brunch omelette

One more type of veggie at supper

One more handful of nuts on your morning oatmeal

One more thing you can do is type 3PMSLUMP in the comments below and I will send you my free guide, Your Ultimate Guide to Avoiding That 3pm Slump! In my free guide you will find several more tips, recipes, and achievable strategies to help you get to feeling like your best self!

Day seventeen
YOU can do it!

I have a 12 week program called Sugarless to Flourish. I designed it for you - the busy human who gets through the day but wonders how, who wakes up tired, who gets shakey when you don't eat for a little while, who has mood swings, trouble sleeping, absolutely insatiable cravings for sugary treats, or who already has that prediabetic diagnosis.

It starts with an intake, where I get to know all about you.

Following that, for twelve weeks we meet once a week, and I give you your weekly meal plan, as well as lifestyle strategies (all achievable for you!), until we meet the following week where I learn how the previous week went for you.

In my bio you'll find a link to sign up for my mailing list where you will also receive my free guide, which provides many tips and recipes to start you off in the right direction. You can also book a Discovery Call with me to see if Sugarless to Flourish is right for you.

I look forward to hearing from you!

See you tomorrow!

Day fourteen
Don't forget to laugh!

It's a simple message that we sometimes don't feel we have the time to remember...

So I'm reminding you. πŸ˜„

Chronic stress releases stress hormones that encourage glucose into your blood to give you enough energy to deal with a precieved threat.

Over time this can lead to insulin resistance.

So don't forget to laugh!
It really is such a simple, but effective way to chase the stress away.

In my bio there is a link to join my mailing list. You will then receive recipes, strategies, and tips to say goodbye to that 3pm slump!!

Day Thirteen
Glycemic load and index

Some of you may have heard of one but not the other. Or you've heard of both, but may not be sure how they're different.

Basically the index is a fixed table that shows through numbers 1 to 100, how quickly the sugar from that food enters the bloodstream.

The glycemic load on the other hand tells you how much glucose per serving is in a particular food.
It certainly is a little confusing but hopefully this offers a little clarity.

No matter what, I recommend focusing on other factors that impact blood sugar as well, so that we don't spend our meals counting our glycemic index scores. This includes eating other foods with our high index foods that contain fat, protein and fibre, engaging in daily movement, and focusing on stress management.

See you on day fourteen!!
