We are excited to share that Christel has joined the Canada InfoNet Mentoring Program in partnership with South Okanagan Immigrant and Community Services (SOICS).

Through this partnership, Christel will be supporting newcomers to Canada as they build connections, navigate new opportunities, and establish roots in our community.

Congratulations, Christel. We are proud to see you contributing to such meaningful work in the South Okanagan. πŸ’™

I am excited to share that I have joined the Canada InfoNet Mentoring Program in partnership with South Okanagan Immigrant and Community Services (SOICS). 🌎🀝

Through this program, I will have the privilege of mentoring newcomers to Canada as they prepare to begin their careers and lives in a new country. The program connects experienced professionals with individuals who are navigating the transition to Canada, providing guidance, encouragement, and insight into Canadian workplace culture and community life.

As a counsellor, I have the opportunity to witness the courage, resilience, and determination it takes to start over, build connections, and create a sense of belonging. I am honoured to be able to contribute in a small way by sharing my experiences and supporting others on their journey.

I am also grateful to be working alongside SOICS, an organization that does incredible work helping newcomers and immigrants access resources, build community, and establish meaningful lives in the South Okanagan.

Building strong communities starts with helping people feel welcomed, connected, and supported. I look forward to learning from the individuals I mentor and contributing to this important initiative.

Thank you to SOICS and the Canada InfoNet Mentoring Program for this opportunity. πŸ’™

😴 Sleep isn't a luxuryβ€”it's a necessity.

When we're not getting enough rest, it can affect almost every part of our lives, including our mood, energy, concentration, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

Many people struggle with sleep at some point in their lives, whether it's difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or feeling rested when they wake up. While the occasional restless night is normal, ongoing sleep challenges can take a significant toll on both mental and physical health.

If sleep has become a struggle, know that you're not alone, and support is available.

Taking care of your mental health includes taking care of your sleep. πŸ’™

✨ Friday Reminder ✨

As the week comes to a close, here's your reminder:

πŸ’š You don't have to carry everything into the weekend.

The emails can wait.
The to-do list can wait.
The pressure to have it all figured out can wait.

Take a moment today to pause and acknowledge everything you've navigated this weekβ€”both the victories and the challenges.

Rest is productive.
Boundaries are healthy.
Asking for support is a sign of strength.

Whatever this week looked like for you, we hope you find time this weekend to reconnect with the people, places, and activities that help you feel grounded.

Be gentle with yourself. You've made it through another week. 🌿

Midweek Check-In

No advice.
No tips.
Just a question.

If your stress could talk right now, what would it say?

Maybe it would say:

"I'm tired."

"I need a break."

"I don't know how to ask for help."

"I wish someone understood."

Sometimes we become so focused on getting through the day that we stop checking in with ourselves. Taking a moment to notice what we're carrying can be the first step toward caring for ourselves differently.

So tell us:
If your stress could talk right now, what would it say?

(And remember, whatever your answer is, you're probably not the only one feeling that way.)

06/02/2026

Some of the things we judge ourselves for most are actually signs that we're listening to what we need.

Taking a moment for yourself.
Setting boundaries.
Saying no.
Asking for help.
Feeling your emotions.
Getting the rest you need.
Moving at your own pace.

These aren't weaknesses.

They're part of being human.

If you've been carrying a lot lately, consider this your reminder that you don't have to earn rest, support, or compassion.

You are allowed to take care of yourself. πŸ’™

If you're looking for support, we're here to help.

😴 Tired of being tired?

If you've ever found yourself staring at the ceiling at 2 a.m., watching the clock and wondering why you can't sleep, you're not alone.

Many people assume insomnia is something they just have to live withβ€”or that medication is the only solution. But there is another evidence-based approach that helps address the thoughts and behaviours that keep insomnia going: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). CBT-I is considered a first-line treatment for chronic insomnia and focuses on creating lasting changes in sleep patterns rather than simply masking symptoms.

In our latest blog, we explore:
✨ What CBT-I is
✨ Why insomnia often becomes a cycle
✨ How sleep-related thoughts and habits can affect rest
✨ Evidence-based strategies that can help improve sleep

Better sleep is possibleβ€”and it starts with understanding what's keeping you awake.
