The things your therapist notices aren’t meant to criticize you. They’re meant to help you understand yourself.

Sometimes we carry patterns for so long that we stop noticing they’re there. They just become normal.

Therapy creates the space to slow down, get curious, and ask, “Where did this come from?” and “Is this still serving me?”

Because healing usually begins with understanding, not judgment✨

If you’ve spent a long time in survival mode, you might not recognize regulation when it arrives. It often doesn’t feel dramatic, it feels quiet. A still mind. Losing track of time because you’re genuinely connected. Not rushing to the next thing. Realizing your body finally feels safe.

Sometimes healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about finally feeling safe enough to enjoy the life that’s already in front of you.

What’s one small moment lately that made you realize you were feeling more regulated? 🤍

Social media can be a great place to learn, feel understood, or realize you’re not the only one struggling.

But it has limits.

I don’t know your story. I can’t ask follow-up questions, understand your unique experiences, or respond to what’s happening in real time.

That’s why everything I share here is meant to educate, start conversations, and hopefully help you feel a little less alone, but not replace therapy.

If something I’ve posted resonates with you, let it be the beginning of your curiosity, not the end of your healing❤️

Some of the most meaningful conversations I have with clients aren’t about changing who they are.

They’re about helping them speak to themselves with the compassion they may not have received growing up.

The things our younger selves needed to hear often become the things we still struggle to believe as adults.

Therapy isn’t about changing the past. It’s about understanding how it shaped you and deciding what you want to carry forward.

What would your younger self have needed to hear? 🤍

Not every breakthrough happens in the therapy room,

Sometimes it starts with a podcast on your commute, a chapter in a book, or a resource that finally puts words to what you’ve been experiencing.

Here are a few resources I’ve been recommending lately that have sparked some really meaningful conversations with clients 🤍

One of the things I love most about virtual counselling is how accessible it can be.

I’ve had clients join sessions from their kitchen table, a parked vehicle, curled up in bed, and even by the ocean. Sometimes being in a familiar space makes it easier to show up as yourself.

I currently offer virtual counselling to adults across BC🤍

Some of the most important things I’ve learned about grief haven’t come from a textbook. They’ve come from sitting with loss both personally and professionally.

Over the years, grief has changed the way I understand love, healing, and what it means to stay connected to the people we miss.

These are a few of the lessons grief has taught me along the way. 🤍

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what actually helps me feel grounded.

Not the picture perfect version of self-care, but the things that genuinely help me reconnect with myself.

For me, that looks like slow mornings with a good book, moving my body, spending time on the land, reconnecting with culture, and sharing life with the people I love.

These are a few of the ways I’ve been filling my cup lately 🤍

What’s been filling yours?

Hi, I’m Lachanda 🤍

I wanted to re-introduce myself and share a little more about the person and values behind my work.

As an Indigenous therapist, my practice is rooted in relationship, curiosity, and connection. I believe there is power in story, shared experiences, and feeling truly witnessed in our healing.

Grateful to be able to do this work in a way that feels relational, meaningful, and grounded 🤍
