Summer is officially here, and along with it, hotter temperatures. ☀️
It's a good time to brush up on how to stay cool... because it isn't just about comfort – it's about health.
As we age, our bodies can become less efficient at regulating temperature, making older adults more vulnerable to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. That's why taking a few simple precautions on hot days can make a big difference:
☀️ Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty
🏠 Keep your suite cool by closing blinds during the hottest part of the day
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
🚶 Plan outdoor activities for the morning or evening when temperatures are lower
A little preparation goes a long way toward staying safe this summer. 💛
